Ciattarelli gets tear-jerking surprise visit from Army son deployed overseas on election-eve

Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli received a tear-jerking visit from his “biggest support” on the eve of New Jersey’s election.

Americans all over the country are headed to the ballot boxes today, and on Monday night, Ciattarelli was rallying his supporters when he received a heartwarming surprise.

“You don’t know what I’m going to say right now, but your biggest supporter who serves his country just came over overnight to serve you,” said Passaic County Republican Chairman Peter Murphy just before the candidate’s son, Jake, entered the room.

Jack was visibly stunned by the sight of his boy, who had just returned home from Kuwait to boost his father’s morale heading into election day. Everyone gathered at Murph’s Tavern erupted into applause and cheers as the pair embraced.

“Now let me guess, you called the president yesterday. He sent Air Force One over to Kuwait and picked up Jack,” the candidate joked later. “And if I know the young man, he’ll probably be on a plane this afternoon back to Kuwait to defend our country.”

“What he probably forgot to do because he’s been so busy defending our nation, he probably forgot to get in his vote-by-mail ballot. He’s here to vote,” he added.
