While it may carry a certain irony that U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) is the one asking, the underlying question about the actions of D.C. politicians remains relevant.
“Why is everybody so horny here?”
That’s the question Boebert asked in response to the latest DC sex scandal involving now former Congressman Eric Swalwell — another woman came out this week to accuse the Democrat of sexual assault, bringing the total number of alleged victims to five.
Swalwell resigned this week, along with now former U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), who had an affair with a staffer who later committed suicide.
“I’m glad that both of these creeps are out of Washington, DC., and I’m sure there are many more that haven’t been named yet,” Boebert told reporters this week outside the Capitol.
Boebert, who was rocking a low-cut dress that showcased lots of cleavage, was asked if she had any advice for her fellow lawmakers, and she replied, “Yeah, go to church, find Jesus. Like, I mean, why is everybody so horny here?”

Then again, the phrase “power is the ultimate aphrodisiac” may apply here.
Of course, Boebert had her own sexual scandal of sorts in 2023 when she was escorted from a Denver theater for disruptive behavior during a “Beetlejuice” musical performance. Surveillance footage appeared to show her and a date engaging in some heavy petting, including lots of “groping.”
The Republican lawmaker, who was going through a divorce at the time, released a statement after the footage was aired, saying, “The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I’m genuinely sorry for the unwanted attention my positive evening out at the theater has brought to my community.”
“While none of my actions or words as a private citizen that night were intended to be malicious or meant to cause harm, the reality is they did, and I regret that,” she added.
Here’s a quick sampling of the pushback Boebert received for her comments, as seen on X:
Wasn’t she getting it on in a movie theater?

I agree with the statement, but she should be careful with her statements given her getting caught on camera being horny in a theater.

I love the deranged responses: “OH YEAH? Well well you’re horny tooo!!!”
Humans are horny dummies, but last I checked she isn’t being accused of screwing her interns.

Power. Something about gaining a bit of power brings out the pervert in a lot of people. It is gross.
