‘Clearly, he’s checked out’: Miranda Devine keeps tab on Biden’s time away from White House

In case Americans needed reminding, Joe Biden is still officially the President of the United States even though he’s not been seen doing much of anything expected of a commander-in-chief.

Journalist Miranda Devine suggested he has “checked out” and wanted to give Americans a visual of Biden in case “you’ve forgotten what the president looks like.”

The image of the 81-year-old napping on a beach chair, while the mess his administration created burns around him, spoke volumes on social media.

Devine offered a “rough calculation” as well of the number of days that Biden has been vacationing since he ended his re-election campaign in July and handed everything over to Vice President Kamala Harris, advising him to resign if he is not up to the job.

“By my rough calculation, President Joe Biden has been on vacation for 27 of the 36 days (75%) since he dropped out of the 2024 race on July 21,” the New York Post columnist wrote in a post on X Tuesday.

“Air Force 1 has whisked him and his family between Rehoboth Beach, Camp David and the Santa Barbara estate of billionaire donor Joe Kiani. Before that, he already had taken nine days vacation at Rehoboth and Wilmington, DE, after the June 27 debate,” she added, detailing the last few weeks of Biden’s “presidency.”

“Clearly, he’s checked out,” Devine concluded. “If the commander-in-chief can’t be bothered – or is incapable of – doing his job for the next five months, then he should resign.”

Devine also gave a sympathetic nod to the press pool normally covering the president’s active days.

“Spare a thought for the poor reporters in the White House press pool. It’s supposed to be one of the most exciting jobs in their life. But imagine how boring it is with Joe Biden on permanent vacation,” she wrote, adding screenshots of the “arduous schedule” for Biden that the White House released for Tuesday.

Many X users agreed that Biden being MIA confirms he is not capable of doing the job if he ever was.

Many others thought the White House press pool deserved the lack of content for their biased reporting over the last few years.
