Climate activists have been pulling some wacky stunts lately, the most recent of which involves two young people throwing tomato soup on the famous “Sunflowers” painting by Van Gogh before gluing themselves to the floor.

The “Just Stop Oil” crew included a pink-haired female who, once she had achieved the safety of being Gorilla Glue’d to the National Gallery’s floor, began lecturing people on why they care about art so much.

For those concerned about the safety and integrity of the painting, reports indicate that it is tucked behind a pane of glass.

Twitter had quite a bit to say about the stunt, and very few people were impressed:

What if Van Gough’s painting of those sunflowers was to say protect the “sunflowers(plants)”, what if this was his way to get attention on the beauty of nature, and that it’s worth protecting?

Leave them glued to the wall and set up a couple of oil based paintball guns, they can be involved in an ever changing interactive abstract art display.
