Some of the greatest lies are the lies of omission and a report by Christiane Amanpour in which she suggested on CNN that the terrorist group Hamas bears responsibility for Israel’s war on Gaza was sanitized for the left-wing audience on taxpayer-subsidized PBS.
Left-wing media outlets have gone to great lengths to avoid using the word “terrorist” to describe the Islamist savages who crossed over into Israel over the weekend and slaughtered innocent civilians – including babies – in their own homes, acts of barbarity that that the Jewish state forcefully and justifiably retaliated against.
The veteran journalist who hosts CNN International’s self-titled news program “Amanpour” as well as “Amanpour and Company” which also airs on PBS devoted her coverage on Monday to interviewing survivors and family members of the devastating attack by the terrorists, and while she was allowed to be critical of Hamas on CNN, PBS apparently would not permit such strong language.
The disparity was spotted by the conservative watchdog Media Research Center.
Surprise: Amanpour Says Hamas to Blame for War…But Why Was That on CNN, But Edited Out from @PBS ?https://t.co/h3a9eaN0xQ

In the introduction to the show, Amanpour noted the “devastating and unprecedented slaughter by Hamas inside Israel” as she set the stage for her conversation with a survivor of the massacre at a music festival attacked by terrorists and a woman whose sister was taken hostage by the barbarians.
“Christiane Amanpour, a lefty journalist whose reporting betrays no sympathy for Israel’s precarious position in the Middle East, led the latest Amanpour & Co. broadcast with interviews of survivors and family members of kidnapped Israelis on the Monday edition of her eponymous show, which airs on CNN International and tax-funded PBS. But why did PBS delete Amanpour suggesting that Hamas was responsible for bringing death and destruction to Gaza?” NewsBusters asked.
“I’m devastated inside. My parents are crying all day long. I’m the one who is taking action, trying to do something. I am trying to reach the press, like you, I’m trying to talk about it. I am trying to reach governments, other countries. I want everyone to know the story….,” Alexandra Ariev whose 19-year-old sister was kidnapped by Hamas told Amanpour.
“I’m devastated inside. My parents are crying all day.” Alexandra Ariev tells me about her sister Karina, who she fears has been taken hostage in Gaza. Now Alexandra says her family is in the dark: “[The government] didn’t tell us anything… We need to know if they’re alive.” pic.twitter.com/ftIrRc2g7T

Amanpour wrapped up the show by blaming Hamas and not Israel for the war in Gaza, stating “And of course, you heard Tzipi Livni and many people saying that the death and destruction of Palestinian people inside Gaza is fully on the shoulders of Hamas,” referring to the former Israeli foreign minister who appeared on the broadcast.
“But that bolded phrase above was for some reason clipped out of the PBS version. It can still be found on the official CNN transcript and in audio form on CNN’s podcast version of the Amanpour show. PBS played a similar deletion trick in January, again without any editor’s note regarding the deletion. What’s up, PBS?” NewsBusters asked.
