‘Compassionate’ police chief explains how Tesla vandal is a ‘victim’, pleased she escaped charges

With stochastic terrorism against Tesla owners running rampant, the “compassionate” police chief in Bloomington, Minnesota, was certain the “best outcome” was reached when a woman who confessed to vandalizing a vehicle avoided charges.

What’s more, Police Chief Booker Hodges went so far as to suggest the suspect was actually a “victim” due to “the rhetoric that is being spewed.”

Police Chief Booker Hodges announced this week that his department will not pursue criminal charges against a woman who did thousands of dollars of damage to a Tesla, adding that they were yielding to the wishes of the vehicle’s owner, according to the Minnesota Star-Tribune.

The vandal came in with her family one day after the crime and confessed, Hodges explained, with the 25-year-old owner of the Tesla only wanting the repair bill to be covered.

“The victim in this case just wanted their car fixed, and they just wanted the suspect to pay for that,” Hodges said. “Based on the totality of the circumstances here, and along with our core value of being compassionate, this is the best outcome for everybody involved in this case.”

“But let me be clear here… the suspect in this case may have been a victim — and I mean victim in the terms of the rhetoric that is being spewed out here by some of those in leadership,” the police chief said.

“We need our leaders to start leading and stop feeding this rhetoric,” Hodges added. “People should be able to drive whatever car they want without fear of going into a store and someone scratching their car or people yelling at them because of the car that … they choose to drive. It’s time for all of us, you know, just to start getting along and knock this stuff off, man. People should be able to be left alone.”

Interestingly, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) is among those “leaders” who took delight in Tesla stock tanking as a result of a coordinated campaign on the left targeting DOGE boss Elon Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla. Extremists are targeting the EVs to protest Musk rooting out government waste and fraud, which speaks volumes.

In a somewhat contradictory tone, Hodges warned other would-be vandals.

“Rest assured,” he said, “if you damage these cars or target people, we are going to arrest you, we are going to prosecute you to the fullest extent that we’re able to.”

Rest assured, social media users were not pleased with how the case developed:
