The United Kingdom extreme climate activists known as “Extinction Rebellion” videoed themselves attacking the News UK building, owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
The video shows the extremists cracking the glass windows with tools, and spraypainting phrases such as “#TellTheTruth” and “40 degrees – Death” on the building’s facade. Posters were also put up on another side of the building.

🔥 BREAKING 🔥
Happening now – Rebels have cracked windows at News UK & sprayed #TellTheTruth & “40 degrees = Death” to highlight the failure of the Murdoch press to cover the #heatwave & #ClimateCrisishttps://t.co/M4MuD7gUIa pic.twitter.com/RT1LDmZW2U

To prove that their vandalism and destruction was righteous, they even posted a video of a guy in a lab coat with the words “I’m a scientist” on it explaining record-breaking temperatures in the UK. Apparently, newspapers are supposed to take “responsibility” for this, and that’s why they’re punishing a billionaire’s building. Because what’s better for the planet than shattered glass and spray paint?

A handful of the extremists were arrested for their activities, which the Extinction Rebellion described as “holding the press to account.”
Even as temperature records are smashed & Europe burns in extreme heat our billionaire controlled media try to undermine #netzero & publish stories about the #heatwave with beach & bikini pics.
Meanwhile, our activists are arrested for holding the press to account. pic.twitter.com/wkwVFScrF9

It would seem their criminal antics didn’t impress everybody, even some of their own peers:
I’m all for XR and direct action, but do you really have to break windows? Surely you know the huge amount of energy that’s required to make glass, especially toughened glass? Sure, it gets attention, but it sends such a contradictory message: “it’s ok for *us* to waste energy”

This will win over the public?

I’m a meat dodger of thirty odd years, dairy free for five years, pay extra for green energy, cycle loads, normally use an EV where a car is still sadly necessary, and I honestly think this is a really stupid stunt. Thankfully I’m not easily put off the cause.

Your message is important but why do you have to smash things up? Counter productive and so wasteful. We need to be better than this.

Any look into XR’s accounts will find a lot of dirty money from all over the globe.

Along comes a big diesel powered van carrying massive panels of glass made with copious amounts of gas fuelled fire.

That’ll solve the climate crisis. Having to unnecessarily replace glass and paint over vandalised walls 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤡
