‘Daddy’s Home’: White House marks Trump’s return from summit with montage video, sexy Usher music

President Donald Trump’s successful trip to the NATO summit was celebrated by the White House in an unusual fashion.

A montage video was released featuring various clips from the trip, set to the music of Usher’s hit “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home).” Of course, those following the president’s trip to the Netherlands to meet with NATO allies knew very well what the “Daddy” reference meant.

“Daddy’s home… Hey, hey, hey, Daddy. President Donald J. Trump attended the NATO Summit in The Hague, Netherlands,” the post is captioned.

The montage video features Trump with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In a moment during a press conference at the summit, Rutte made a comment that raised eyebrows as headlines declared he called Trump “daddy.” The NATO chief’s comment came as Trump dished on using profanity when he spoke of Iran and Israel acting like children hours after a recently brokered ceasefire.

“They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a school yard. They fight like hell, you can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it’s easier to stop them,” Trump said as Rutte laughed, saying, “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language.”

Trump found the humor in the moment as he joked about it when asked during a later press conference.

The White House seemed to embrace the moment in releasing the video, even after Rutte attempted to backtrack on his comment.

“The daddy thing, I didn’t call [Trump] daddy, what I said, is that sometimes… In Europe, I hear sometimes countries saying, ‘Hey, Mark, will the US stay with us?” Rutte said, according to the Daily Mail. “And I said, ‘That sounds a little bit like a small child asking his daddy, ‘hey, are you still staying with the family?” So in that sense, I use daddy, not that I was calling President Trump daddy.”

The video clip featuring the Usher song sparked a myriad of reactions on social media.
