The GOP is getting ready to launch a blitzkrieg of investigations into big businesses that are pushing woke agendas such as promoting the environment over energy production, as well as clamping down on China’s influence in the US economy.
As Republicans retake control of the House of Representatives, the New York Post is reporting that insiders claim a reckoning is coming for big businesses that lean to the left.
The GOP has always been viewed as the party of big business, but that is no longer the case as conservatives take the lead on committees that have the power to stop socialist policies that are harming the nation as a whole. They will have subpoena power and they are intent on punishing investment firms that are foisting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), a form of woke bastardized capitalism, on Americans in an attempt to control the masses despite massive pushback over it.
Investment companies such as BlackRock have been in bed with the Chinese for a long time and are heavily pushing US companies to embrace net-zero carb emissions at the expense of shareholders. This has drawn the fury of Republicans who are now intent on reigning in the overreach and abuse by these firms.
Certain states are taking direct aim at firms that push ESG. At the front of that line is Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis pulled $2 billion in state pension funds from BlackRock earlier this month. That was followed by an activist investor calling for BlackRock CEO Larry Fink to immediately step down.
In his victory speech in November, DeSantis declared, “We fight the woke in the corporations.”
“There is frustration with specific issues like woke capitalism but it’s also the case that the GOP sees Wall Street interests and big business interests generally aligned against Main Street … and the GOP wants to identify itself with the small business community,” James Lucier, who is the managing director of the Washington-based policy research firm Capital Alpha, told the New York Post.
“You’re seeing a divorce between the GOP and Wall Street,” Lucier remarked. “It’s a Trumpian shift from big business to a populist focus.”

Free trade and outsourcing jobs are also issues on the table. China is up front and center as a target over its monopoly on many rare earth minerals and its companies listed on US stock exchanges.
As giant corporations take stances that are antithetical to conservative values, Republicans have vowed to take action. Issues range from the Second Amendment to abortion.
Republicans attacking the woke, corporate mind-hive will undoubtedly attract small businesses ahead of the next presidential election in a Galt’s Gulch (see Ayn Rand) rallying call.

“The GOP has the opportunity to become the party of the little guy again,” Alfredo Ortiz, who is the president and CEO of Job Creators Network, told the New York Post. “Business has been associated with the GOP for a long time but this is an effort to make a clear separation between big and small business.”
The investigations list is getting long for the House. Republicans intend to go after Hunter Biden’s business dealings abroad and highlight President Biden’s complicity and corruption, with a special interest in Big Tech.
Come January, Big Tech will be held accountable for their flagrant bias. https://t.co/UsT32rwBjU

Then there is the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, the origins of the pandemic and its handling, as well as the chaos on the southern border as illegal immigrants flood the country. Not to mention the energy crisis.

Before President Biden came to office, the U.S. was more energy secure than ever before.
Now, families are paying more for gas, electricity, home heating bills – and just about everything else.

“In just 47 days, House Republicans will have the gavel, and we will be prepared to hold the Biden administration accountable from day one,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted previously. “Our investigations are just getting started.”
