Delta Boeing 757 loses wheel seconds before taking off

Embattled United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby has drawn a lot of attention to his industry, not only for a video of him seemingly twerking in drag but for questions about whether a relatively recent United Airlines hard landing was attributable to the company’s DEI agenda.

An Atlas Air Boeing 747 burst into flames mid-air last week on its way from Miami International Airport to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico, which drew more questions about the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) push for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Over the weekend, a Delta Boeing 757 lost a wheel while it was preparing to take off at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport and while there’s nothing to suggest that DEI initiatives have anything to do with the incident, stories of airline malfunctions are reaching ridiculous levels.

As noted in the tweet below, had the wheel fallen off a few seconds later as the fully-fueled plane was reaching full speed just before liftoff the results could have been catastrophic.

As dramatic as the incidents above may be, they pale in comparison to an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft losing its “door plug” earlier this month shortly after departing Portland International Airport. The pilot had to make an emergency landing. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.

“I open my eyes and the first thing I see is the oxygen mask right in front of me,” passenger Vi Nguyen told The New York Times. “And I look to the left and the wall on the side of the plane is gone.”

The incident prompted the FAA to temporarily ground similarly configured Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft to allow for a more in-depth inspection.

Alaska Airlines has its own DEI problems after two Christian flight attendants terminated by the airliner filed a lawsuit alleging religious discrimination in connection to the company’s “major push” for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

And the beat goes on, as seen when a British passenger noticed that a New York-bound Virgin Atlantic flight was missing bolts on a plane wing on January 15. After alerting the crew, the flight was canceled moments before it was due to take off from Manchester Airport in the UK.

Turns out, Virgin Airlines ran an ad promoting DEI and transgenders — the airline changed uniform policy so men can cross-dress and nonbinary crew can wear pronoun pins. They even tout drag queen flight attendants.

The politically driven push for diversity and equity in the airline industry is dangerous and risks getting a lot of people killed, according to none other than Elon Musk.

“People will die due to DEI,” Musk tweeted earlier this month in response to a story about Boeing rewarding CEOs and executives if they hit DEI targets.
