Comments by a Texas Democrat on how ICE agents should handle a car being used as a “weapon” drew brutal mockery on social media.
Representative Sylvia Garcia spoke at a press conference Friday about the ICE-involved shooting in Houston earlier in the week when an illegal from Mexico tried to run over an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, who fired in self-defense.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said law enforcement “attempted to conduct a vehicle stop as part of a targeted enforcement operation to arrest an illegal alien.”
“The driver of the vehicle, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo — an illegal alien from Mexico — attempted to evade arrest,” according to a DHS spokesperson, who said the Mexican national struck an ICE vehicle after ignoring verbal commands and then “weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer.”
At one point in Friday’s press conference, Garcia scoffed at the decision made by the federal officer to shoot at the driver.

“So we have learned some lessons. Apparently, ICE has learned nothing,” said the congresswoman who was joined by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), and an attorney for the Araujo family.
“If they really think that a car is going to hurt somebody, I mean, even a kid will tell you, you shoot the tires. You don’t shoot the driver,” she declared.
As another Democrat villified federal agents enforcing the nation’s laws, Garcia’s take on stopping a moving vehicle earned her instant backlash on X as users reminded her that real life is not always like a Hollywood action film.
It’s this kind of PURE IGNORANCE that exemplifies such people don’t belong in leadership, let alone, government positions! If you don’t know why they just don’t shoot the tires, seek to build critical thinking skills! 😡🙂↔️😡

Spoken like a true idiot, only a kid would think this movie crap, shooting out a tire, if you can, does not necessarily cause the driver to lose control and a 0.0164 lb. bullet hitting at van 304,878 times its size does not due anything to stop the van. Why do stupid people talk

Yeah they would take a kids advice over say literally anybody knowledgeable on the subject.

Please Rep. identify any law enforcement organization that instructs their officers to shoot at tires in this circumstance. That does not include old episodes of Barnaby Jones.

And that’s why we don’t give guns to kids. But somehow we also have US congresswomen whose entire knowledge of policing and firearm safety comes from watching television.

Because hitting small moving tires accurately with a handgun is extremely difficult under stress. Even a hit rarely stops the vehicle immediately—cars often keep going on a flat or the rim. Misses risk hitting bystanders, passengers, or causing ricochets.
When a vehicle is used…

I’ve come to realize the Democrats, indeed, are sending their best and brightest to Congress.
