Desperate for redemption, Schiff leads push to televise Trump trials: ‘Right to witness justice served’

Following his witch hunt against former President Trump over fake Russian collusion and Jan. 6, Rep. Adam Schiff is now bucking for televised criminal trials for the former president, rallying Democrats to his cause.

Schiff (D-Calif.), who is displaying a new height of arrogance and hubris, is running for the Senate after his false accusations against Trump. To bolster his leftist creds he is leading 38 House Democrats in demanding that Trump’s proceedings be turned into an O.J. Simpson-style circus.

“We are writing to request the Judicial Conference explicitly authorize the broadcasting of court proceedings in the cases of United States of America v. Donald J. Trump,” stated a letter from the Democrat mob sent to Judge Roslynn Mauskopf, who oversees the administration of federal courts, on Thursday.

“It is imperative the Conference ensures timely access to accurate and reliable information surrounding these cases and all of their proceedings, given the extraordinary national importance to our democratic institutions and the need for transparency,” the rabid leftists contended.

The letter was fired off just hours after Trump pleaded not guilty to four charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, according to Fox News.

Thursday, the former president was arraigned in a D.C. court following Special Counsel Jack Smith announcing the second of two federal grand jury indictments against Trump. He is also under an earlier criminal indictment in New York City which makes three so far, with a fourth on the horizon stemming from Geogia’s accusations of election tampering.

Federal courts typically don’t allow cameras in the courtroom.

The dozens of Democrats who signed the letter addressed the Judicial Conference, which guides federal court policy, contend that televising Trump’s trials is necessary for Americans to “fully accept” their outcome. They want to rub everyone’s face in it to show they are in power.

“As the policymaking body for the federal courts, the Judiciary Conference has historically supported increased transparency and public access to the courts’ activities. Given the historic nature of the charges brought forth in these cases, it is hard to imagine a more powerful circumstance for televised proceedings,” the leftists wrote.

“If the public is to fully accept the outcome, it will be vitally important for it to witness, as directly as possible, how the trials are conducted, the strength of the evidence adduced and the credibility of witnesses,” they added in a move reminiscent of the Crown forcing citizens to watch public executions in order to intimidate them.

Fox News reported, “Schiff was censured this year for promoting claims, while chairing the Intelligence Committee last Congress, that the Trump 2016 campaign colluded with Russia to win the election.”

“He also played a central role in both of Trump’s impeachment proceedings by House Democrats. He was an impeachment manager during the first, and was a member of the January 6 select committee when the former president was being impeached over the Capitol riot,” the media outlet continued.

Other members of the inquisitory-style now-defunct Jan. 6 panel who signed the letter include its chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) as well as Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.), and Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.)

The Wall Street Journal noted that Democrats want the “trials to dominate media attention through the November 2024 election.” They were the first to compare the upcoming proceedings to the O.J. Simpson trial
