DOGE: Social Security terminates ‘Gender X’ marker, saves taxpayers over $1M

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced that American taxpayers will be saving over $1 million thanks to the end of a Social Security Administration gender-related contract.

“The Social Security Administration has terminated its contract for the ‘Gender X initiative marker’ and removed all references to gender ideology from public-facing applications,” DOGE announced on X. “This saves > $1M and is in accordance with the President’s Executive Order…”

The term “gender” was replaced with “sex” on official government documents per an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office last month.

“The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system,” that order states. “Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself.”

“Each agency and all Federal employees shall enforce laws governing sex-based rights, protections, opportunities, and accommodations to protect men and women as biologically distinct sexes,” the order noted. “When administering or enforcing sex-based distinctions, every agency and all Federal employees acting in an official capacity on behalf of their agency shall use the term ‘sex’ and not ‘gender’ in all applicable Federal policies and documents.”

Previous executive orders related to gender issued under the Biden administration were rescinded in Trump’s action.

“Late last month, the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services were told not to make a final decision on any application that would produce a document with an ‘X’ marker for gender,” Fox Business reported. “Social Security appears to be the next agency to make modifications when it comes to a person identifying sex on an application.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who introduced a bill to deny biological males from using women’s bathrooms in the U.S. Capitol, was one of many to react to the post by DOGE about saving taxpayer funds.

“$1,000,000 people,” she wrote on X. “Government waste at its finest- and this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Others also applauded the DOGE announcement.
