Despite Democrats doubling down, Don Lemon had something of a hissy fit over what he sees as a “false equivalence” between the left’s rhetoric and a muddied take on the president’s own words.

In the wake of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, where President Donald Trump faced yet another assassination attempt, elected Democrats largely chose either silence or a blanket condemnation of political violence. As their own record of vile rhetoric was recirculated without apology, Lemon invoked Jan. 6, 2021, venting that comparisons drive him “f*cking crazy!”
“Words have consequences. Rhetoric really matters, and I believe that genuinely across the board. And that’s not a one-sided principle; it applies to everyone,” claimed the former CNN talking head who was counted among a mob of people indicted for allegedly conspiring against the First Amendment rights of congregants at a Minnesota church.
“But I cannot say with a straight face — and nobody can say that with a straight face in the world that we live in right now — that Democrats saying ‘Trump is terrible for this country’ is the same thing as Donald Trump standing in front of a crowd on January 6 and telling them to march to the Capitol and ‘fight like hell,'” he fumed. “I cannot say those things are equivalent because they are not.”
“I am so sick of false equivalence,” added Lemon. “It drives my f*cking crazy!” Because that is bullsh*t!”
Worth noting, the characterization of the president’s remarks from his rally at the Ellipse on Jan. 6 is akin to the presentation in a BBC Panorama Documentary that prompted a $10 billion lawsuit from Trump alleging that statements made within were “fabricated and aired by the BBC.”
A letter from the president’s attorneys alleged that the “BBC intentionally sought to completely mislead its viewers by splicing together three separate parts of President Trump’s speech to supporters.”
“The documentary showed President Trump telling supporters: ‘We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol, and I’ll be there with you, and we fight. We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,'” stated the letter.

However, what the president actually said was, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” minutes before going on to state, “And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
Meanwhile, the very same day Lemon was downplaying Democrat rhetoric as simply calling the president “terrible for this country,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D) had a defiant response to the press after he was called out for his own rhetoric.
Challenged in part on his use of the phrase “maximum warfare” against Republicans, the wannabe House speaker said, “The notion that any of us are concerned with so-called criticism from these phony Republicans as it relates to anything that has been said — certainly as it relates to the comment related to maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time in connection with the redistricting battle that Republicans launched — I stand by it.”
“You can continue to criticize me for it,” asserted Jeffries. “I don’t give a damn about your criticism!”

Lemon also made a point of stating that he believes what the suspect did was wrong and that no one should “pick up weapons and walk towards a room full of people,” before he went on to make clear his opposition to the president being made into a “martyr.”
“And, I don’t want Donald Trump dead, okay? I do not want Donald Trump dead. Let me say that,” expressed the podcaster. “Not because I have any warmth towards him — I really don’t. I don’t. I think he’s a repulsive human being.”
Reactions to Lemon’s take may well drive him crazier, as social media users weren’t buying his further demonization of the president to defend the record of Democrats.
Give it up. We all heard what was actually said. You look weak when you lie.
