Billionaire Elon Musk found plenty of time in his busy schedule to tweet on Sunday and among the many tweets he shared was a critique of movie critics that got a lot of folks stirred up.
Conor Friedersdorf, a staff writer for The Atlantic, shared a screenshot from Rotten Tomatoes showing that just 14 percent of seven professional critics approved of comedian Ricky Gervais’ new stand-up special, while 92 percent of those who watched it — the audience — gave it a thumbs up.
While it seems clear that the liberal elite have still not forgiven Gervais for his scorched earth monologue during the 2020 Golden Globes Awards, his Netflix stand-up special, “SuperNature,” has been widely panned by woke Americans as “transphobic” because, yes, he goes there, actually joking about the insanity that is today’s critical gender theory — more on that in a bit.
“The ‘critics’ seek not to critique, but rather to virtue signal. They are out of touch with the people, and so lose their credibility with the people,” Musk responded.

Granted, Musk is the world’s richest man, and while the Tesla CEO reportedly has a ferocious work ethic, some folks had a difficult time with him pontificating about being “out of touch with the people.”
Last month, Musk responded to Netflix stock cratering to say, “The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.”

As for the special, perhaps Netflix took Musk’s words to heart because nothing is off-limits and Gervais pulls no punches. In the clip below the comedian jokes about women of old, calling them “dinosaurs with wombs,” while comparing them to today’s “new women” who have “beards and c*cks.”
Caution: Extreme Language:
“The segment is clearly tongue-in-cheek and intended to poke fun at how transgender activism has gone too far, moving beyond mere tolerance and starting to chip away at the identity of women and focusing on trivialities such as pronouns over matters of much more substance,” The Washington Examiner said of the clip.
Yet, the LGBTQ+ community is losing its collective mind:
We watched the Ricky Gervais “comedy” special on Netflix so you don’t have to. It’s full of graphic, dangerous, anti-trans rants masquerading as jokes. He also spouts anti-gay rhetoric & spreads inaccurate information about HIV. 1/4

Here’s a quick sampling of some of the responses to Musk’s tweet on Twitter:
Critics are just mad and jealous that they can’t do what the people they’re critiquing can do.

The same way with the mainstream media. They lost touch with reality.

Completely agree but my suggestion, in general, is don’t use the term virtue signaling. Those who do it, don’t seem to get it.

Looks like an inverse relationship. If virtuesignalers rate it low, the audience will get more enjoyment. Jokes often rely on opposing appropriate norms.
