Entitled Somalian, now a state rep describes how miserable her experience of life in America was

Maine State Rep. Mana Abdi doesn’t appear to be a fan of her American experience, judging by a video making the rounds on social media.

In the clip, she described what it was like coming to the United States, saying that “everything was a shock” and that encountering new things every day was “getting worse.”

Watch:

“Coming into the states, everything from the snow to the housing, the homes that we were all of a sudden occupying, everything was a shock. Everything was new and I’m just like ‘Oh my God, this is getting worse,” she laughed.

“Kansas, of all places,” she responded after being asked where her family first lived after coming to America. “It was like boot camp for Maine, basically. I mean, anyone who lives in Maine, knows Maine and has ever visited Kansas, they will know what I’m talking about. It’s just that Kansas is a lot to deal with as a person of color, honestly. Or as a black person.”

X users were quick to respond to what is being perceived as a jab at the United States:

“OMG, expecting The Ritz Carlton Penthouse? How many times has she reminded us she was a Person of Color? That’s root of division. Americans know diff cultures/races. 1st settlers assimilated, all were in the same boat. Comparing Somalia to KS? Ms. Abdi, KS = nation’s breadbasket, rolling hills, scenic roads. Is Somalia like that? Wow talk about entitled!” one user commented.
