New York City Mayor Eric Adams has certainly embraced the celebrity aspect of his new job, rarely passing on an opportunity to hobnob with the rich and famous or shy away from the cameras.
The latest example of this was a video Adams shared on Twitter, where he is visiting a local salon and getting his feet washed — seriously.
“Thank you to Cuccio Nail Salon in Washington Heights for getting me ready for the #MetGala!” he tweeted, before adding the prerequisite pro-NYC tidbit to justify his footbath, “It’s #SmallBusinessWeek in New York City — shop local!”

Talk about an image certain to come back to haunt a politician!
Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean, who lives in the Big Apple, blasted Adams while responded to the tweet: “This guy is so full of himself it’s embarrassing.”
As for the 2022 Met Gala, Mayor Adams made sure he stood out while hamming for the cameras. Hizzoner rocked a tuxedo emblazoned with the words “End Gun Violence” on the back while posing alongside his girlfriend, Tracey Collins.
‘We can’t return to that period as we deal with income inequality,’ New York City Mayor Adams said, referring to the Gilded Age.

Adams was quick to share images of this online as well, all the while proving Dean right as he tweeted, “Bringing a little swagger back to the #MetGala! Honored to be here.”

Of course, changing the progressive policies in the city will go further to end gun violence than sporting a tux emblazoned with the words.
A former NYPD officer, Adams vowed to crack down on crime, but statistics released last month by police indicated gun violence was on the rise, according to Fox News, which reported that in March, New York City “reported 115 shooting incidents – a more than 16% increase from March 2021.”
