‘Face the Nation’ drags out Liz Cheney to blame GOP House chaos on Trump

It’s still over a week until Halloween but the Sunday morning “news” shows dragged out a favorite political ghoul as disgraced former congresswoman Liz Cheney was welcomed by both CBS and CNN who fawned over the chief attack dog of the now-defunct J6 committee.

The scheming daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney brought her trademark sneer to “Face the Nation” where she blamed the tumult in the House of Representatives which is still without a Speaker on her favorite target, 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald J. Trump, a man who is reviled by warmongering, anti-democracy neocons like herself.

During her conversation with host Margaret Brennan, Cheney couldn’t resist also taking a shot at deposed former Speaker Kevin McCarthy who stripped her of her leadership position over her vendetta against Trump, while whining about the $100+ billion that President Joe Biden is demanding to fund multiple wars which is stalled due to the 20+ GOP House members who have refused to be team players when they sank the candidacy of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) who was shanked in the back on Friday.

“Look, I think what you’re seeing right now and among the Republicans in the House is a direct result of the decisions that Kevin McCarthy made to embrace Donald Trump, to embrace the most radical and extreme members of our party, that elevate them. So it’s not a surprise that we are where we are, but it’s a disgrace, and it’s an embarrassment. And there certainly are serious people among the Republicans,” she said.

“I hope that one of them, particularly, I think it’s important for somebody not be an election denier. And I also think everybody should be asked tomorrow night at the candidate forum about this issue of Ukraine assistance, and they should be asked from the perspective of, we face a global challenge and existential threat. And how in the world could anybody defend at this moment, surrendering to one of our adversaries by walking away from Ukraine,” Cheney added, echoing Biden’s prioritizing of sending more money to the corrupt Zelensky regime.

Cheney also showed up on CNN, a network that has recently disgraced itself with its shameless parroting of Hamas propaganda, where she chatted with whiny partisan anchor Jake Tapper, depositing a morsel of hope in the trick-or-treat bags of Beltway media types that she could be mulling a presidential bid of her own next year.

She also trashed McCarthy during her “State of the Union” appearance, spewing Democrat talking points to Tapper.

“What we’ve seen is a result of the leadership decisions that Kevin McCarthy made back after the 2020 election and certainly after January 6. Looking the other way in the face of the kind of assault on our democracy that we’ve seen from Donald Trump and his allies in the house, including Jim Jordan. elevating those members, frankly, some of whom are white supremacists. Some of whom are anti-semitic, and a number of whom were involved directly in the attempt to seize power and overturn the election,” she said.

The ex-congresswoman has kept a relatively low profile since she slinked out of Congress following a humiliating 40 point ass-whipping in her home state’s primary last year where she was crushed by her Trump-endorsed opponent, Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) in a voter referendum on her unholy alliance with Democrats against the former president.

Cheney’s name did come up last week when J6 BFF Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) floated her as a potential Speaker that Democrats could get behind although the wisdom of such a move is dubious in that tabbing someone who isn’t even a member of Congress would only serve to further discredit a government that has already lost legitimacy in the eyes of millions.
