The “performative nonsense” of a state representative brought a “FAFO” reminder as to why Florida’s executive maintains the title of America’s Governor.
Given the swamp’s failure to deliver the SAVE America Act to President Donald Trump’s desk to bolster election integrity, state legislatures have become a key battleground ahead of the midterm elections. In addition to lawfare, the response from Democrats has included the typical weeping and gnashing of teeth, including one “ghetto” lawmaker whose escalated antics found her arrested at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) office Friday.
“FAFO,” wrote the governor in response to a report from Florida’s Voice’s Eric Daugherty that state Rep. Angie Nixon (D) had been arrested for staging a sit-in over redistricting after being warned that she would be trespassed from the property if she refused to leave at closing time.

As was previously reported, Nixon responded to voting on redistricting legislation by taking a bullhorn to the floor of the Florida House and shouting about “an assault on our democracy” and “violation of the Constitution.”
Nixon also happens to be running against retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman — one of the left’s favorite “whistleblowers” — for the Democratic nomination to take on appointed U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody (R) in a special election to complete now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s term.
During her Friday protest, Nixon had declared, “I would love for the governor to come holla at ya girl.” Responding to E.W. Scripps reporter Forrest Saunders post with her comments, DeSantis’ chief of staff Jason Weida updated Friday after 5 p.m. closing, “Reprimanded and now arrested.”
“Deservedly so,” added the governor in response. “Our office isn’t a platform for this performative nonsense.”

Of no surprise, the Democrats continued to play the victim amid Nixon’s arrest as she released a statement claiming she was “fighting against injustice, defending our democracy, and demanding action on the issues that matter most to the people we serve” while accusing Florida Republicans of “playing politics with people’s lives.”
“I was arrested today along with outraged constituents demanding action instead of doing the job taxpayers send them to Tallahassee for. I am calling for the release of all the peaceful protesters arrested today and for this legislature to revisit the Constitution they claim to uphold so that we can have representative maps,” she went on, while Nikki Fried, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, said in part, “Arrests and intimidation from Governor DeSantis will not change the truth. The maps passed last week by Florida Republicans are illegal, discriminatory, and anti-democratic.”
“We’re deeply concerned by reports that journalists covering the protests were removed from the Capitol,” added Fried as she spun the arrest to play against upholding law and order. “Freedom of the press is a fundamental part of democracy and any threat or limitation to that freedom weakens our country, state, and communities. Only wannabe dictators arrest their political opponents in the shadows.”
Meanwhile, supporters furthered praise for DeSantis for standing out as a Republican “with a spine” among the RINOS, deserving of a promotion.
At least ONE Republican in The entire country with a spine… THANK YOU @RonDeSantis . I think you are literally the only one and that includes deep state don

I would vote for a Florida constitutional amendment that allowed Ron DeSantis to run for a third term 🎯

I hope to retire someday and live in the Keys. I just wish DeSantis could be the governor until I’m gone 😆
