Florida sues Biden admin over alleged crack pipes for drug addicts controversy: Taxpayers have a right to know

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has sued the Biden administration over its refusal to be honest and transparent about whether it’s providing crack pipes to drug addicts.

“In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday, Moody asked a federal court to compel the Justice Department and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to comply with outstanding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for documentation related to possible federal grant funds used to promote drug use through Safe Smoking Kits,” according to Fox News.

As previously reported, these kits often include crack pipes, among other inappropriate items, though the Biden administration has tried to pretend otherwise.

As for Moody’s FOIA requests, they were made over a year ago, but to no avail. Over a year has passed since the March 10th, 2022 deadline that the administration was supposed to abide by. The Florida AG does not appreciate this intransigence.

“If Biden is using your tax dollars to buy crack pipes for drug addicts, you have the right to know,” she told Fox News.

“Our country is in the grips of a drug overdose crisis, and the Biden administration is stonewalling our requests and keeping the public in the dark about so many misguided, reckless policies. We are taking them to court to get answers for the American people,” she added.

All this pertains to a controversy that erupted last year after reports emerged that drug addicts were being given crack pipes as per some government-funded program.

The report triggered immediate denials from the White House and their sycophantic media allies, yet more evidence continued to surface.

One piece of evidence was a viral social media video showing a black Hollywood resident displaying government-funded drug paraphernalia that he claimed was being given out in his community by the Catholic Church.

“Every Tuesday and Friday in Hollywood, they have a Catholic church that gives this stuff out. This is where we’re living at, ya’ll, and this is what the government’s doing. Joe Biden said he spent $60 on paraphernalia for drugs. And this is what it looks like,” the man said.

He then proceeded to show several allegedly government-funded baggies containing a meth pipe, a crack pipe, a heroin needle, and a “black and mild filter that you put on the crack pipe so you don’t get no one’s saliva so you don’t get sick.”

His explanation prompted someone else standing nearby to say in exasperation, “So they’re like, if you’re going to do drugs, we’re going to give it to you so you do it the proper way so that you don’t get sick.”

Hearing this, the first man lamented, “We’re not stopping it. We’re not going to stop it. This is letting you know that this is going to be here. This is what they do.”

The first guy specifically mentioned President Joe Biden because his administration had just recently been caught appropriating money to be used for the purchase and distribution of so-called “smoking kits/supplies.”

While the administration and its media allies tried to play coy about the meaning of said “smoking kits/supplies,” overwhelming evidence pointed to said supplies being crack pipes, meth pipes, heroin needles, etc. In other words, the evidence pointed to the supplies being exactly what the man from Hollywood displayed in the video up top.

The Washington Free Beacon reported at the time that the “smoking kits/supplies” were part of the Department of Health and Human Services’ fiscal year 2022 Harm Reduction Program Grant program. The program described in a document the crack pipe distribution plan as the dispersion of federal government funds for “smoking kits/supplies.”

An agency spokesperson told the media outlet that the grant money would supply addicts with safer ways for them to consume “any illicit substance.”

The spokesperson also justified the move by claiming the kits would reduce users’ chances of becoming infected, which is evidently common among crack addicts.

The whole program was all part of the president’s “comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality.”

Indeed, when selecting grant recipients, the administration prioritized those entities (like the Catholic Church) that vowed to use the kits in “underserved communities,” including those where there are large African-American and LGBTQ+ populations.
