Fox News meteorologist’s drawing of Hurricane Ian turns monster storm into ‘penis…with testicles’

Make no mistake, Hurricane Ian is a deadly storm and those directly in it’s path should heed all caution and follow the instructions of local authorities, particular in the projected Southwest region of the Florida Gulf Coast, where the massive storm is expected to make land fall.

At the same time, humor can sometimes serve as a welcome distraction to the fear and anxiety that accompanies powerful hurricanes and that’s were a Fox Weather report comes into play.

Veteran meteorologist Bryan Norcross was discussing the tracking of the storm, noting that it can be unpredictable. While explaining various tracking models and a “cone of uncertainty,” Norcross managed to draw what looked very much like a penis AND testicles.

“Look at this,” Norcross said. “What you think you see are all kind of tracks here over Florida, and few over here.”

While speaking, he was drawing two oblong circles on either side of the cone and it was hard to deny the outcome — at least for those with an undisciplined mind!

On a more serious note, in addition to being an expert on hurricanes, Norcross may be best known for his yeoman’s work in 1992, when Hurricane Andrew devastated South Florida. He stayed on air for a remarkable 22 straight hours and was credited by many with saving lives.

“As far as I’m concerned, Bryan’s the reason I’m alive,” a Miami-area resident told the New York Times after the storm.

More from the Times: “In 22 consecutive hours on the air, simultaneously broadcast on television and radio, Mr. Norcross, with no real competition, talked South Florida through Hurricane Andrew on Aug. 23 and 24. People with collapsing roofs knew to huddle in bathtubs with mattresses over their heads only because Mr. Norcross told them to. And as they hid there, his voice, never before considered even faintly mellifluous, soothed them through a fearful night.”
