Gavin Newsom lays it on thick, says Biden’s age is ‘a gift’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is laying it on so thick when it comes to his praise of 81-year-old President Joe Biden that you can almost smell a rat.

In a Sunday appearance on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” the Democratic governor claimed that he’s “all in” with Biden who has conducted a “masterclass” in being president, and that Biden’s age is a “gift” because it brings with it so much “wisdom.”

“We have American manufacturing coming back home, all because of Biden’s wisdom, because of his temperance, his capacity to lead in a bipartisan manner — which is an underrepresented point. So I have great confidence moving forward. So the answer is absolutely. All in, in terms of the next four years for Joe Biden,” Newsom said.

He went so far as to claim that Biden’s alleged success has been “because of his age.”

“I’ve been out with him as you know, on the campaign trail — was just out in California — I’ve seen him up close. I’ve seen him from afar, but here’s my point. It’s because of his age that he’s been so successful. It’s because of the wisdom and the character that’s developed over the years,” Newsom said

“So the opportunity to express that for four more years, what a gift it is for the American people, and as a Democrat, what it gets for me to make the case for the leader of our party, Joe Biden,” he added.

It’s almost as if Newsom is laying the groundwork to block any criticism being directed at him when and/or if he is slotted in as a November replacement for the cognitively challenged geriatric president.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
