Grassley drops ‘proof’ top Biden officials ‘PERSONALLY’ launched ‘unchecked govt power at the highest levels’

Former Attorney General Merrick Garland and former FBI Director Christopher Wray personally signed off on the Biden administration’s “Arctic Frost” investigation into President Donald Trump and his allies vis-a-vis the Jan. 6 riot.

This was revealed in an April 2022 Department of Justice memo that Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley released on Thursday.

In the tweet above, Grassley accused the Biden administration of having “unleashed unchecked government power at the highest levels” with the 2022 memo.

In the tweet below, FBI Director Kash Patel added that the memo proved that “weaponization and politicization” occurred “at the highest levels of government” in the Biden administration.

In the April 2022 memo that was also signed by then-Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, the three top Biden administration officials authorized the FBI to open a “Sensitive Investigative Matter.”

Long story short, the memo authorized an investigation to determine whether Trump and/or his allies had conspired to obstruct the certification of the 2020 presidential election results by Congress.

“Following the 2020 Presidential and Vice Presidential election, in an apparent effort to obstruct Congress’s certification of Electoral College, fraudulent certificates of electors’ votes were submitted to the Archivist of the United States, purporting to represent the actual elector votes from the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin,” the memo’s executive summary reads.

“Open source reporting and public statements made by individuals closely associated with Donald J. Trump, Inc. (Trump Campaign) present an articulable factual basis indicating the existence of a federal crime, and thus the FBI seeks to open a full investigation,” it continues.

But according to the Washington Examiner, the memo “outlined no confidential sources or independent corroboration of suspected wrongdoing, relying instead on media reporting, podcasts, and public statements by individuals [linked to Trump].”

The memo also stunningly acknowledged the possibility that “Arctic Frost” could potentially interfere in America’s democratic elections if the investigation was exposed before the 2024 election.

“Although members of the 45th Presidential administration are no longer in office, the DOJ Memo states that the scope of this policy should be broadly construed to ensure that Department leadership is made aware of the opening of matters that could potentially be disruptive to the democratic process if publicly disclosed prior to an election,” it reads.

The intel gleaned from this investigation was nevertheless later used by special counsel Jack Smith to indict President Trump for allegedly trying to undo former President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

According to other unclassified documents previously released by Grassley, the investigation’s findings also led to the phone records of nine congressional Republicans being subpoenaed.

In total, the “Arctic Frost” investigation wound up targeting 92 right-wing organizations and Republican-affiliated operatives, including Turning Point USA.

All of the FBI personnel and units that were involved in “Arctic Frost” have since been fired and disbanded by Director Patel.

“They tracked the communications of GOP Senators,” the FBI director tweeted earlier this month about the investigation. “They weaponized law enforcement against the American people. That era is over.”

“We fired those who acted unethically, dismantled the corrupt CR-15 squad, and launched an investigation. Transparency and accountability aren’t slogans, they’re promises kept,” he added.
