Guy scales Mar-a-Lago wall at midnight, intends to marry Trump’s granddaughter Kai

The latest Mar-a-Lago miscreant had his eyes set on one particular member of President Donald Trump’s family to “marry” after attempting to scale the wall.

Whether they’ve aimed to keep a low profile or have sought to offer the public the occasional behind-the-scenes glimpse into the presidency, there is a reason the First Family is extended U.S. Secret Service protection. Tuesday after midnight, agents detailed to Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, resort residence were alerted to such a potential threat when they detained a man attempting to gain entry who allegedly said he wanted to “marry Kai,” Trump’s eldest granddaughter.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the Secret Service detailed that, “An adult male was arrested early Tuesday morning by the Palm Beach Police Department for unlawfully entering the Mar-a-Lago Club property in Florida. Shortly after midnight, the individual scaled a perimeter fence and triggered alarms.”

“U.S. Secret Service personnel detained him without incident at the scene. Palm Beach Police officers responded to the scene and took the individual into custody, charging him with occupied trespassing,” added the statement.

According to the police report, 23-year-old Anthony Thomas Reyes said he wanted to “spread the gospel” and to “marry” the 18-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa Trump. As it was, reports indicated, “No Secret Service protectees were present at the time of this incident.”

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detailed that Reyes was charged with “Trespassing — Trespass Property Intent To Commit An Offense” and, while his bond was originally set at $1,000, it had been raised to $50,000.

Tuesday’s attempted entry at the resort was Reyes’ second confirmed time, as he had previously been issued a warning for trespassing on New Year’s Eve.

The Palm Beach Daily News reported that there have been at least seven other attempts by individuals to enter the property in the time since a wannabe assassin fired upon Trump and his supporters on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania.

This included a Pennsylvania woman who was arrested in April for trying to get in and have dinner with the president. She is instead serving six months of probation after pleading guilty.

Having pleaded not guilty to felony charges of grand theft auto, there was also insufficient evidence to support a criminal prosecution of 53-year-old Farbot Dolat, who had been arrested outside Mar-a-Lago in November 2024 after allegedly stealing a car in his effort to go speak with Trump.

As for Reyes, the Palm Beach Daily News reported that Judge Daliah Weiss instructed him that he is not permitted to have weapons and that he cannot have contact with the president, the president’s family, or any of their properties.

Speaking with the New York Post, a White House spokesperson confirmed, “The President is aware of this incident and has been briefed.”
