‘He’s crying again’: MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan perturbed over DeSantis aides defending boss from his smears

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan’s readily blocked attempt to dunk on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) left him trying to score points on the press team instead, only to be called out for “crying again.”

DeSantis recently took another crack at the dumpster fire that is California under progressive leadership with a culture war caveat should Twitter CEO Elon Musk decide to relocate headquarters to the Sunshine State. The governor spoke to the problem of leftists fleeing the outcomes of the policies they voted into place but insisting on voting for the same in their new home.

Hasan took umbrage with that and reacted, “Imagine if the governor of a blue state told a company from a red state not to bring its ‘MAGA’ employees to their state. Rightwing media & the GOP would melt down. As ever, conservatives get to demonize/delegitimize certain cities and citizens, but never the other way around…”

The governor had simply said, “You know, I don’t know, I mean, I know Elon and basically, what I would tell him is like, ok, if you’re going to move Twitter to Florida, are you bringing woke employees to Florida or are you bringing just your people. If it’s just his people, then it may be good.”

Bypassing the never-ending misrepresentation by corporate media of DeSantis’ efforts like the Parental Rights in Education law routinely referred to as the “so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill,” Christina Pushaw stepped up and tackled Hasan’s position by simply stating, “No business wants to move to a blue state, so your theory will remain untested.”

“Don’t give Mehdi any ideas. He might try to steal them, “DeSantis deputy press secretary Jeremy Redford responded to that tweet, linking to an article about Mehdi allegedly plagiarizing a column he wrote in favor of child-spanking more than two decades ago.

Just prior to that, Pushaw had quote-tweeted the MSNBC host and said, “Woke tech employees would not be happy in Florida, because they think it’s a dictatorship. I mean, we don’t even allow men to dress up in provocative outfits for explicit performances in front of children here! They will be happier if they stay in California.”

DeSantis’ press secretary Bryan Griffin lauded his predecessor for the cutting takedown of Hasan he called a “W for @ChristinaPushaw,” as others added to the pile on.

If he realized his mistake, the host certainly didn’t admit it as he changed tactics to go after the spokespeople as “trolls” for successfully doing their job. On top of that, he proceeded to be a troll himself as he took a potshot at selective polling data for a presidential campaign that remains unofficial.

“Not one, not two, but three DeSantis top press aides came into my replies to troll me for this tweet. Meanwhile, DeSantis’s presidential campaign continues to crash and burn before it’s started. Maybe he should ask his folks what they’re busy with online, while he drowns in public again and again,” Hasan wrote.

Brendon Leslie, the CEO of the outlet that posted the story Hasan had originally commented on summed up the reaction from the MSNBC host by noting to Pushaw, “he’s crying again,” as others called Hasan out as well.
