Homan insists mass deportations continue: ‘If you’re here illegally, you’re NOT off the table!’

President Donald Trump offered high praise for his “Border Czar (Plus!)” as Tom Homan “set the record straight” regarding mass deportations.

What would have otherwise been met with widespread support instead found even some of the most loyal among the MAGA movement apprehensive after Homan was dispatched to Minnesota to oversee immigration enforcement operations. However, hangups about the border czar’s use of amnesty adjacent language like “law-abiding residents” were seemingly put to rest when he reaffirmed what would happen to those “in the country illegally.”

Joining Fox News’ “Hannity” during Friday’s installment, Homan expressed the president’s desire for de-escalation of the violent unrest in Minneapolis and other blue cities while arguing any suggestion that Trump was backing off mass deportations was “just untrue.”

“My message has been since January 20, when President Trump took the Oval Office, we’re going to have a mass deportation, but we’re going to prioritize the arrest of criminals and public safety threats.”

The administration official relayed to Hannity that in just over a year’s time, “we got over 700,000 deportations between the Border Patrol and ICE. That’s a record.”

“You know, I’ve been in D.C. about 15, 16 years. I’ve overseen more deportations than any other man since the Eisenhower administration,” he went on. “So, if anybody thinks that Tom Homan and President Trump isn’t serious about immigration enforcement and having a mass deportation, then they weren’t paying attention to the press conference.”

“Prioritization is smart law enforcement — but if you’re in the country illegally, you’re not off the table and we’ll find you too, and deport you too,” said Homan before the host reminded that the border czar had been awarded the Presidential Rank Award by then-President Barack Obama in 2015, several years after the Democrat chief executive had himself decried amnesty and open borders as “unwise and unfair.”

Obama had gone on to express, “And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons, the 11 million who broke these laws should be held accountable.”

While all eyes had been on Minnesota for weeks as federal immigration officers cracked down on the state facing fraud probes, especially those within the Somali community expected to lose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) by March, Haitians in Ohio looked to be next in the deportation queue.

With their TPS set to end February 3, it appeared that “The good people of Springfield are about to be LIBERATED!” as journalist Nick Sortor put it, more than a year and a half after the city had been a 2024 election focus for overrunning the city.

The term-limited Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) had argued the deportation of Haitians was “not ethical” given the state of their home country, but that he would mobilize resources in support of ICE “if they come.”

As for the performance of Homan, the president left no doubt of his approval as he’d posted to Truth Social, “Border Czar (Plus!) Tom Homan is doing a FANTASTIC JOB. He is one of a kind. Thank you Tom!!!”
