Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to tax-related charges in a federal courtroom in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, and his trial date has been set to take place in June.
A day after he stormed out of a congressional hearing room in a publicity stunt, the scandal-drenched son of President Joe Biden flew across the country for his arraignment on nine felony and misdemeanor charges that he failed to pay $1.4 million in taxes.
U.S. District Judge Mark C. Scarsi set a June 20 trial date for the allegedly reformed crackhead, meaning the presidential son’s legal troubles will be making headlines during his father’s reelection campaign, not the best optics for the deeply unpopular Democrat.

Last month, Biden was indicted on the tax charges stemming from a federal special counsel investigation, with a grand jury delivering a blistering indictment alleging that he squandered money “on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature” instead of paying Uncle Sam.
“According to the indictment, Hunter Biden engaged in a four-year scheme in which he chose not to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019 and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns,” the Justice Department stated in a press release.
If convicted, he could face up to 17 years in prison.
Not seen at the hearing was Hollywood attorney Kevin Morris, dubbed Hunter Biden’s “sugar brother” who has reportedly been chronicling his exploits for an upcoming documentary to portray the president’s scoundrel son in a sympathetic light and to get “the last word” in the court of public opinion.
On Wednesday, Biden unexpectedly showed up at a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing where a resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress was being debated, an obvious publicity gimmick allowing for him to make a big scene with his dramatic exit.

Morris and his film crew accompanied Biden during his brief appearance at the hearing which could be featured in the upcoming propaganda film.
The documentary will show Biden, who has repeatedly portrayed himself as a victim, as he goes about his daily life as a recovering addict and family man amid the mounting legal problems and negative publicity that have kept his name in the headlines.
“A documentary would allow Biden the person — a father and husband — to be presented without a middleman: painting, selling his art, raising his son and navigating everyday life as a sober adult with ongoing criminal investigations and in the crosshairs of Trump and his supporters,” according to the Los Angeles Times which revealed the project in a profile of Morris.
Judge Scarsi “imposed several standard conditions of pretrial release on Hunter, including a prohibition on using drugs or alcohol, a ban on gun possession and a requirement that he seek employment,” according to the New York Post. “The judge also ordered the first son to submit his state and federal taxes, detail his income and inform his case judges in both Los Angeles and Delaware if he has any travel plans.”
