Ilhan Omar likely in danger after death threats revealed by staffers

Ilhan Omar’s office released to the public voicemails of death threats made against her and her family that she reportedly received after blaming Israel for Hamas’ deadly terrorist attacks.

The “Squad” member shared the voicemails with NBC News as proof that she and her family were being threatened for her anti-Israel stance.

According to NBC News, the voicemails include profanity-laced death threats that called the Minnesota congresswoman a “terrorist Muslim.” Another one claimed that Omar and her family were being watched and that an unnamed group had obtained “all your addresses and handed them out to rapists.”

“I’m from a militant group,” one caller in a voicemail purportedly claimed, according to NBC News. “I can’t wait till our group sees you one day and I can rip your f***ing rag off your head… I hope the Israelis kill every f***ing one of you.”

The voicemail appears to refer to Omar being Muslim. Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) are the only Muslim lawmakers in Congress. Both have called for a ceasefire and have accused Israel of war crimes while appearing to give cover to Hamas terrorists.

There have been other threats as well.

One man left a voicemail telling Omar, “I wish that someone would kill you and put you in hell.”

Another man reportedly told her she should “drop dead for supporting f***ing terrorists,” according to NBC News.

“You work for this country,” the caller went on. “Pull your f***ing head out of your f***ing turban-wearing ass, and f***ing see the light of day, you dumb*ss f***ing terrorist-supporting f***ing piece of sh*t.”

The caller who told Omar she was being spied on also said his group had hacked into all of her accounts and was prepping to poison her and her family.

“Allegations are they’re going to kill you and we get to watch on the Internet,” the caller reportedly said according to NBC News. “I pray that they f***ing have justice on all you traitors.”

“This dishonest smearing empowers those who spread the harmful myth that Muslim-Americans are a threat rather than valued members of our country,” Omar proclaimed via a statement that was emailed to The Hill. “It has directly endangered my life and that of my family, as well as subjected my staff to traumatic verbal abuse simply for doing their jobs.”

“More importantly, it threatens the millions of American Muslims,” she told NBC News.

“This toxic language and imagery has real-world consequences,” Omar added. “House Republican leaders stay silent as their party unleashes these toxic attacks and refuse to hold extremists in their ranks accountable. Since assuming office, two men have pleaded guilty to threatening to kill me. This is very real. I fear for my children and have to speak to them about remaining vigilant because you just never know.”

Omar has made her hatred of Israel clear and has raged against the tiny Jewish enclave since she has been in Congress. Omar and Tlaib are part of a group of Democrats demanding that President Biden seek a ceasefire following Hamas terrorists killing over 1,400 Israelis as well as dozens of Americans while kidnapping hundreds of other individuals including children two weeks ago.

“The U.S. Capitol Police and the House Sergeant at Arms briefed Omar and other progressive lawmakers critical of Israel — including the only other Muslim woman in Congress, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who is Palestinian American — over potential threats last week, according to a Democratic aide familiar with the meeting,” NBC News reported.

“I cannot believe I have to beg my country and colleagues to value every human life, no matter their faith or ethnicity,” Tlaib wrote on X.

On Thursday, President Biden condemned Islamaphobia and antisemitism during a speech. He used as an example the horrendous murder of a 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy by an unhinged man who was allegedly anti-Muslim.

“We must without equivocation denounce antisemitism. We must also without equivocation denounce Islamophobia,” Biden declared. “And to all of you hurting … I want you to know I see you. You belong. And I want to say this to you: You’re all America.”
