A California business owner whose company was robbed is fed up with rampant crime, pointing the blame directly at the Democrats he voted into office.
After a group of thieves broke into his Los Angeles construction and electrical company, Ryan Baggaley unloaded as he expressed his utter frustration at the losses and damage done to the property while local politicians continue to turn a blind eye.
“This whole strip has been broken into, our neighbors have been broken into four times, these guys just got broken into two months ago,” Baggaley told KTTV. “What are we supposed to do? We’re a small construction company.”
His business now boarded up, Baggaley had a specific word for the elected officials.
“I voted for [Mayor] Karen Bass. I voted for [President Joe] Biden. I voted for [Gov.] Gavin Newsom,” he told KTTV. “I’m sick of it. It’s like, at some point, you have to give me a reason to vote for you again.”
Surveillance video showed the group of at least 10 thieves using a car to break through a gate, and then break into the Delta Construction and Electric Co. building in the Glassell Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning, according to KTTV.
He told the station that the thieves made off with equipment as well as musical instruments from the building, adding that even “the getaway car, a blue Kia Soul, was stolen from an impound yard owned by the Los Angeles Police Department.”
Among the stolen construction tools, the thieves also robbed him of studio microphones and six of his family’s guitars that were stored there.
“We just do our jobs, make a living, help our employees make a good living, and move on, but it’s really freaking difficult to survive,” Baggaley lamented.
The business owner was notified of the break-in through his security system but says even after an emergency call for help, police officers did not respond for two hours.
“They’re saying, ‘We don’t have anyone in the area,’” he told KTLA 5. “We’re like, ‘Now it’s been 15 minutes, then it’s 20 minutes and they’re still not here.’ It just kept going and they didn’t respond for two hours.”
His brother, Aaron Baggaley, the CEO of Delta Construction, described the frustration for business owners in the area.
“We’re doing everything we possibly can to get by in this city,” Aaron Baggaleytold KABC. “It’s not an easy city to get by in and we get hit by 15 criminals.”
“We’re sick and tired of what’s going on we build facilities that get broken into day and day out,” he said. “This is not news to us, this is our own building. This one hurts. It really sucks.”
And brother Ryan echoed the sentiments as they noted the business has been robbed before.
“We need the police to patrol the city. We need more police — it’s that simple — good police, well-trained police. It kills me,” he said.”We run a small construction company. This thing is successful and it keeps guys busy. It keeps 30 employees employed in the city. With the taxes, we pay for everything else. I want security for my family and business.”
