‘I’m still talking!’ Witness puts smug House Democrat in her place as victims of migrant crime moms rock hearing

An insensitive Democrat was put in her place on Tuesday by the mothers of the victims of criminal alien crime.

The mothers were speaking before the House Judiciary Committee, testifying about how criminal alien crime has devastated their lives, when Democrat Rep. Veronica Escobar decided to say something stupid.

As seen/heard below, she claimed that her congressional Republican colleagues were “exploiting” the mothers’ pain by having them testify in public about the effects of criminal alien crime:

“What is happening today at this committee hearing where we have [GOP] colleagues who are exploiting people’s pain for political purposes, and unfortunately, that’s what’s happening today,” Escobar said.

The mothers were outright offended by Escobar’s assumption.

“I don’t feel exploited in any way,” one mother said. “As a matter of fact, I find it very interesting that all five minutes from both of your testimonies on the left have not had any questions for us up here but instead a speech. And I will tell you, I’m getting tired of hearing about the most comprehensive border bill, which did nothing for American citizens.”

April Aguirre, a crime victims’ advocate, also spoke out against Escobar.

“It’s insulting that you would say that to these families that you would make an assumption that they’re being used or exploited in any way,” she said. “What I will do is give you my number. It is [REDACTED]. And I’d like a phone call from you to see what you can do to help these families because every single week, I get bombarded with calls from victims all over the United States.”

“But I’m just a small person with a small foundation that helps people here, locally in Houston and Harris County. Not one time, when her daughter was murdered, and I was helping her navigate the criminal justice system, did one Democrat call me to offer their assistance. It was only Republicans. And I’m an independent; I vote both ways,” she added.

Escobar then tried to interrupt her. Bad move!

“Please don’t speak over me because I’m still talking!” Aguirre yelled. “I have the mic! I have the floor! If you want to answer me, you ask! You made some very broad statements. These people lost loved ones; they lost children. And we want to see a difference.”

“We may not understand anything that’s going on, but I assure you we’re not being used in any way. And if today somebody calls the number from any side of the aisle, we want solutions,” she added.

As noted by the mother who spoke before Aguirre, the Democrats on the committee showed no interest in their tragic stories, starting with that of Patty Morin:

“The American people need to hear, know, and understand the truth of the horrendous war zone we call the southern border,” she began. “President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s open border policy is having a devastating impact across our great nation.”

“I live 1,800 miles from the southern border in a small town in northern Maryland. Yet a man who was wanted for murder in El Salvador made his way to my community and ambushed my daughter on a quaint walking trail in broad daylight,” she added.

“I’m here today to make sure that my daughter is remembered as more than a victim. I hope that her story will be the wake-up call that this country needs to secure its borders and protect American citizens,” she continued.

Next up was Tammy Nobles, whose daughter, Kayla Hamilton, was raped and killed by an MS-13 gang member named Javier Martinez in 2022:

“At the end of March of 2022, Walter Javier Martinez was apprehended by Border Patrol crossing illegally into the U.S. at the southwest border in Rio Grande City, Texas,” she began. “‘Martinez stated that he was 16 years old and feared gang activity in his country in El Salvador.”

“As an unaccompanied alien child, Martinez was granted access into the United States with no background checks or vetting. Homeland Security did not verify the sponsor and allowed Martinez to go live in Frederick, Maryland. Martinez was living there less than five days before he violently and brutally murdered my daughter,” she added.
