INSIDER Slugga: Jack’s back– Defiant ‘dirtbag’ prosecutor takes a bow

One of the most exalted heroes of the anti-Trump Resistance slithered out in public once again when Jack Smith appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

A ruthless and unprincipled thug, the former federal prosecutor was brought in as the Biden regime’s designated lawfare hitman who was tasked with the job of putting President Donald J. Trump behind bars, and were it not for the Supreme Court, he may well have succeeded.

During this tenure as special counsel, Smith conducted two sweeping witch hunts against Trump, with one being the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case and the other, an election interference beef centered around the phony “insurrection” on January 6, 2021.

But both crumbled, sending the glowering Smith slinking off with his tail between his legs after Trump was re-elected, but not before running roughshod over the law and longstanding American principles to carry out his mission, including scooping up the phone logs of numerous sitting Republican lawmakers.

On Tuesday, the defiant Smith got his chance to face them in a setting that wasn’t rigged in his favor, other than Democrat panel members fawning and slobbering over him in a nauseating spectacle that provided further proof that he is a rabidly partisan goon who would have felt right at home in the old USSR.

During his opening statement, the ex-Hague prosecutor defended his legal rampage and insisted that he had proof of Trump’s alleged criminality, proclaiming that he will not “be silenced by continued threats of prosecution” from the current administration now that the tables have been turned and he could be held accountable for his unscrupulous tactics.

“Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in criminal activity,” Smith claimed. “If asked whether to prosecute a former President based on the same facts today, I would do so regardless of whether that President was a Republican or a Democrat.”

“I will not be silenced by the continued threats of prosecution from the President or others,” he vowed, referring to what Smith described as “the vilification of the career prosecutors, FBI agents, and support staff who served on my team.”

His underhanded tactics also included collecting personal checks from nearly 5,000 law-abiding Americans who donated to Trump, a chilling example of how even ordinary citizens practicing their political rights were seen as fair game by Smith and his goons.

“No matter what you say, there’s no legitimate basis for what you did. Especially since your staff killed an investigation into the Clinton campaign. Donations to Republican groups wasn’t necessary to your investigation, which is proved out by the fact it wasn’t mentioned in your public report. Now, the Justice Department and FBI will forever possess thousands of people’s addresses, phone numbers, banks, bank account numbers, bank routing numbers and copies of their true signatures, “Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said.

“Every member on this committee ought to be outraged for what happened to their constituents. Which one of my Democratic colleagues will join me in that outrage?” Grassley added, imploring Democrats to denounce Smith’s abuses only to be met by crickets.

“You have brought the Department of Justice into disrepute,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slammed Smith during a relentless pummeling from Republicans that lasted hours.

“You make me want to throw up in my mouth,” said Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) as the GOP lawmakers meted out their scourging.

“You may think you’re a hero in this story, but let me tell you something. You’re the villain. You’ve done so much damage,” Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) said to Smith. “You will go down as a total dirtbag.”

Democrats used their time to protect their hero, with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) lashing out at his GOP colleagues during the hearing, with the emotional basket case taking great umbrage that they would be less than reverential to Smith.

Leftists and the media put the “dirtbag” on a pedestal during his witch hunt, and if they succeed in regaining control over the political system, it’s easy to see many of them championing him as the attorney general for a future Democratic president.
