‘Is this normal?!’ United pilot seemingly caught repairing plane window before take off

United Airlines passengers already have enough reasons to be rattled, so imagine how one woman felt as she recorded what appears to be a pilot repairing a plane window before take off.

Granted, it’s an interior window, but for a self-described toddler expert named Kristin the scene was a bit unnerving.

Kristin posted a clip on Instagram of what appears to be the flight’s pilot fidgeting with a window, writing: “They are literally replacing a ‘window’ with all of us just chilling and sitting here waiting to take off?!?!?”

The flight originated in Denver and was heading to Dallas

“I have so many questions. Is this our pilot?!? Should a pilot be replacing a f–king window?!?! Is this normal?!” Kristin added.

Here’s the video clip, courtesy of TMZ:

Upon arriving in Dallas, Kristin posted a photo of a child sleeping in her lap

“Window did not fly off the plane. It’s eclipse season y’all. Miracles can happen,” she commented.

The fact she remained on the flight is a good example of how much trust travelers have in the airline industry when traveling — they are literally placing their family’s lives in the hands of the various airliners.

United has had several incidents recently, including a plane losing a tire shortly after taking off from San Francisco International Airport and a Boeing 737 MAX 8 reportedly incurred landing gear failure during an attempt to land at Houston Intercontinental Airport, resulting in the plane going off of the runway. There was also an external panel “found to [be] missing from a United aircraft when it landed in Oregon.”

The incidents were bad enough to prompt United CEO Scott Kirby to reassure rattled passengers.

“Unfortunately, in the past few weeks, our airline has experienced a number of incidents that are reminders of the importance of safety,” he said in a message. “While they are all unrelated, I want you to know that these incidents have our attention and have sharpened our focus.”

The story made for some interesting responses from social media users… here’s a sampling from X:
