Jessica Tarlov joins Obama in hit on fellow ‘buzzkill’ libs that make it ‘impossible for you to breathe’

Jessica Tarlov, the liberal installment on “The Five,” called out her fellow cohorts on the left for their “alienating” woke-ness while commenting on Barack Obama’s recent remarks targeting intolerant cancel culture warriors.

The former president cautioned Democrats during an appearance on Pod Save America about “not being a buzzkill,” saying: “Sometimes people just want to not feel as if they are walking on eggshells, and they want some acknowledgment that life is messy and that all of us, at any given moment, can say things the wrong way, you know, make mistakes.”

Fox News co-host Jeanine Pirro pointed out that Democratic strategist James Carville warned the party long ago about “woke-ism,” asking Tarlov why they didn’t heed the warning.

“You know, Jessica, what you’ve got is very few Democrats dared cross that Rubicon and say, you know, this woke-ness for the birds,” Pirro said, “but James Carville did a long time ago. But nobody seemed to follow him. Why?”

“James has given no Fs for decades, that’s his brand and that’s what he’s really good at, and obviously was seminal in incredibly successful 1990s and getting us through a huge wipeout of losing the House and then Contract with America and all of it,” Tarlov replied. “People do listen to James Carville. They don’t necessarily have the cable news pundit jobs, right, they’re not the ones who are in your face all day, they’re not on the editorial page in ‘New York Times,’ but they’re out there.”

“And what President Obama is doing that’s different than other people who criticize it, he is criticizing liberals. He is not talking about conservatives, he’s talking about liberals who make it impossible for you to breathe,” she continued.

Tarlov cited the insistence on using the term “Latinx,” that very few Hispanics actually identify with, as an example of a “liberal-on-liberal problems.”

“Say whatever you want about Republicans, try to make it as polite as possible, I get it, but some of this woke stuff is alienating I’d say moderate to conservative Democrats, certainly Independents, and I’m sure that that loops back to what’s going on with independent women,” she said, adding that Democrats are too obsessed with Donald Trump to focus on matters that are important to the American people.

“The perception of Donald Trump has been baked in, I’d say, since about 20 minutes after he came down that golden escalator. People knew exactly what they thought of him, and that has not changed since then,” Tarlov said. “So, yes, leaving that aside, especially when the midterms are kitchen table issue elections. We know what they want to talk about: inflation, economy, crime and public safety.”
