A Jewish councilwoman in New York was arrested after being spotted with a firearm at a pro-Palestinian rally on the campus of CUNY’s Brooklyn College.
Brooklyn Councilwoman Inna Vernikov was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, according to the New York Post. The arrest reportedly resulted in calls for her to be removed from office.
As seen in a photo tweeted by student organizers, Vernikov, who had a legal concealed carry permit, was wearing a short-waisted top that exposed her weapon with little movement:

“[Vernikov] was observed with the but-end of a firearm (handgun) protruding from the front portion of her pants,” police sources told The Post.
“The Councilwoman eventually left the location and upon notification to police, the Councilwoman was contacted and she turned herself into the 70 Precinct, in the company of her attorney,” the sources said.
Vernikov was seen at one point during the protest holding an Israeli flag while standing in front of the Pro-Palestine protesters.
And considering the crowd was chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be Free,” which is a call to erase the Jewish State of Israel and its people, the Republican might be excused for thinking she may need to protect herself:

The protesters called the Palestinian terrorists who killed more than 1,300 people, including infants who were executed and, in some cases, beheaded, “our heroes.”
“The least we can do today, is come out here today and stand with our Palestinian resistance, who are our heroes, a man is heard saying outside CUNY Brooklyn College.
The crowd shouted in response, in America, “Allahu Akbar!”

The councilwoman posted a video of her responses to the militant protest online, as well.
“If you’re standing w/ the protestors, yelling ‘GLOBALIZE THE INTIFADA’ & ‘FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE’ while innocent women and babies are being raped, massacred and beheaded, you’re a HAMAS supporter & apologist who would like to bring the terror here to rid the world of the Jewish people. We will never remain silent,” she tweeted, along with the footage.
