ABC reacted to a report that Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show will be ending after next season.
On Tuesday, Page Six reported that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is rapidly approaching its final episodes. They quoted a “source familiar with the situation” to claim that the next season would be its last.
“His contract is not getting extended,” the person said.
But a spokesperson for ABC Entertainment quickly jumped on the news, calling the reporting “speculative”
“[This] information is inaccurate — any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative,” they said.
Kimmel has been on television for 24 years, signing year-to-year contracts that allow him a greater degree of flexibility than most hosts. He has brought negative press to himself and the network with his coverage of President Donald Trump, leading many people to wonder if the network would view him as a liability and refuse to renew his contract.
Last year, Kimmel was briefly suspended after some heinous comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. While he was ultimately reinstated, some speculated that it would be the end of his career at ABC.

As you can see, nobody is upset at this. @ABC you should just end it after this season. You could put literally anything in that time slot and get better views/ratings

It has become a leftist show. Fallon is way better and less political.

Honest take. He’s really bad. No idea how he got the job to begin with. Look at Letterman and Leno, then Kimmel. Embarrassingly bad in comparison

Amazing how all these propagandists began dropping like flies after the USAID gravy train ended. https://t.co/2ELtNTcgdx

I can honestly say I have never watched one episode. I can also say I haven’t sucked a hospital mop either. https://t.co/5TXFA3VA8J

Its kind of crazy that you can bring a new A list star on every day for two decades and no one gives a shit about your show. That’s just indicative of how entertaining he isn’t. https://t.co/hwptHYsj4D
