Fox News’ Joey Jones added some suggestions to President-elect Donald Trump’s idea that Canada should become the 51st state.
As he co-hosted “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, the retired U.S. Marine who served in Afghanistan reported on Trump’s holiday messages on Truth Social where he once again jabbed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The incoming president continued his suggestion that Canada join the U.S. and its prime minister could lead as a “governor.”
Trump also mentioned hockey legend Wayne Gretsky as a potential candidate for the prime minister/governor job in another post on Truth Social.
“I just left Wayne Gretzky, ‘The Great One’ as he is known in Ice Hockey circles. I said, ‘Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada – You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign.’ He had no interest, but I think the people of Canada should start a DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement. It would be so much fun to watch!” Trump wrote.

Jones took on the Canadian state proposal and had an added idea.
“There are a lot of Canadians that watch our show and I get reminded of that on social media because I’m a little bit of an American snob,” he said Thursday.
“And they remind me that they watch and I know they have a lot of pride in their nationality and who they are, but if Canada became a state, it should become two states because we don’t need one liberal state, we need to separate those liberal cities and the rest of that country,” Jones said.
“I’m just saying, you know, for my own conservative politics, make it two, not just one,” he contended.
He also spoke of the “balance of power” that would have to be taken into consideration by actually absorbing another nation.
“It’s the same debate that goes around Puerto Rico. How does it change the balance of power? Not just the liability of bringing in a state, but, you know, where does it lean?” he said. “It is one or is it two?”
