Justice Thomas’ devastating dismantling of affirmative action is ‘pure fire’, and the media is LOSING it

With affirmative action now ruled unconstitutional thanks to the Supreme Court, Democrats are in a state of pure fury.

And wouldn’t you know it, the number one target of their fury is Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a black man.

Part of the anger stems from the devastating concurrence he wrote in which he demolished the idea of racial preferences in college admissions:

The rest of the anger stems from the fact that he’s black. Because he’s black, and affirmative action mainly benefitted black people, some even view him as a “race traitor.”

This view is especially pronounced among those aware that he himself admittedly benefitted from affirmative action during his younger days.

Look (*Language warning):

The anger hasn’t been limited to just everyday people. During Thursday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg attacked the 75-year-old conservative justice who grew up under Jim Crow laws for having previously said that he doesn’t know what “diversity” means in the context of college admissions.

“He doesn’t get it. Well, let me pose this question to you, Justice Thomas. Could your mother and father vote in this country? Because had the 14th Amendment actually had us on equal footing, they would have been able to vote. And you know why that changed? Because people got out and made a change,” she said.

“If we didn’t have to, no one would do it. Who wants to get hit by water from a water hose? Nobody. But that’s what people did in order to get the vote. So when you say you don’t know what diversity is, I say you’re full of it,” she added.

Listen:

Over on MSNBC meanwhile, NAACP President Derrick Johnson angrily lashed out at affirmative action instead, ironically enough, for having “created” Thomas.

“The worst thing about affirmative action is that it created a Clarence Thomas who benefited from the program, and now is in a position where he’s going to deny many young African-American talented individuals an opportunity,” he said.

“Historically, the problem has been that the institutions of higher learning, corporations, companies, and other entities have denied well-qualified African Americans and other individuals access in terms of admissions, employment, cause of their race,” he added.

Listen:

That being said, Thomas is receiving some love as well — namely from the majority of Americans who stand opposed to affirmative action policies. To them, his decision signifies America taking another step toward true racial equality and harmony.

“While I am painfully aware of the social and economic ravages which have befallen my race and all who suffer discrimination, I hold out enduring hope that this country will live up to its principles so clearly enunciated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States: that all men are created equal, are equal citizens, and must be treated equally before the law,” part of his concurrence reads.

His supporters also appreciate his takedown of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who wrote the dissenting opinion in the case.

He specifically wrote that her “race-infused world view falls flat at each step. Individuals are the sum of their unique experiences, challenges, and accomplishments. What matters is not the barriers they face, but how they choose to confront them. And their race is not to blame for everything—good or bad—that happens in their lives. A contrary, myopic world view based on individuals’ skin color to the total exclusion of their personal choices is nothing short of racial determinism.”

His words were a breath of fresh air to those Americans who are sick and tired of the left’s attempts to establish a racial hierarchy in America:
