Kamala Harris claims Florida teachers ‘simply want to teach the truth,’ DeSantis says let’s debate

Opposing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not only Job #1 with the Trump campaign but with Democrats as well, which may be a good indication of the true value of the 2024 presidential candidate.

Vice President Kamala Harris has been largely kept on the back shelf by the Biden administration, likely out of fear of what may come out of her mouth next and that’s saying a lot given the world-class flubber-in-chief ahead of her. But now that she has an opportunity to fulfill the one true role she ever had, which was to attract minority voters, she isn’t wasting her chance.

Jumping on the bandwagon to drive racial discord, the vice president attacked DeSantis for leading an effort to end the use of critical race theory to indoctrinate school kids and ban graphic books containing pornographic content involving minors, claiming that activist teachers “simply want to teach the truth” — as decided by the Marxist-inspired progressive left.

“The same extremists who ban books in our schools now want to replace history with lies. While fighting back in Florida, I spoke with educators who simply want to teach the truth without fear of losing their jobs,” Harris tweeted, sharing a video of a discussion she had with a select group of Florida teachers that was far removed from the truth.

The video captures Democrats doing what they do best, projecting their behaviors on opponents while manipulating language to turn the truth on its head.

VP Harris effectively declared that teachers should be free to teach whatever they want and it’s nobody’s business, as she claimed that preventing teachers from indoctrinating children with left-wing ideology that they are being told “to push propaganda.”

She has said some pretty stupid things over the last 2 1/2 years, but her stance here ranks at the top of that list.

At the center of the smear campaign targeting Ron DeSantis is the lie that he believes slaves benefitted from being enslaved, a dishonest political take on the African American history standards adopted by Florida — standards that are similar to the AP African American Studies course backed by Kamala Harris, according to Florida Voices.

Gov. DeSantis called Harris out for coming to Florida “to lie about the African-American history standards” while being interviewed Monday by Fox News host Bret Baier.

In sharing that clip, the governor tweeted: “I don’t bend the knee to lies manufactured by corporate media and the Left. When the Left lies and creates phony narratives — as Kamala Harris is doing — I push back.”

The fact that DeSantis pushes back is why so many in the media dislike him.

Speaking of, the governor took things a step further when he invited Vice President Harris and any cronies she wants to bring along to come back to Florida and have a debate on the issue — of course, Hell would freeze over for a second time — see Eagles reunion — before the Democrat takes him up on the offer.

“In Florida we are unafraid to have an open and honest dialogue about the issues. And you clearly have no trouble ducking down to Florida on short notice,” DeSantis said in a letter. “So given your grave concern (which, I must assume, is sincere) about what you think our standards say, I am officially inviting you back down to Florida to discuss our African American History standards. We will be happy to host you here in Tallahassee. I will ask Dr. William Allen — instrumental in the development of our impressive new standards — to join. We welcome you, of course, to bring Randi Weingarten or someone else who shares your view about the standards.”

“I am prepared to meet as early as Wednesday of this week, but of course want to be deferential to your busy schedule should you already have a trip to the southern border planned for that day,” the governor added. “Please let me know as soon as possible. What an example we could set for the nation  — a serious conversation on the substance of an important issue! I hope you’re feeling up to it.”
