Last week, reports began circulating with accusations that U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle was living it up via her post and that, before being confirmed, she’d sought $100,000 from a supporter of President Donald Trump in exchange for administration access. Monday, Trump donor, lawyer and former Kentucky congressional candidate Eric Deters shared his side of the story on CNN while discussing his plans to take Guilfoyle and her attorneys to court.

Making the rounds on corporate media ahead of upcoming conversations with some congressional Democrats, Deters joined CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” with guest host John Berman, who asked, “What are the chances that you think that [Trump] would fire her?”

“I think she’s gone. I think he has to fire her,” Deters explained with regard to the allegation that Guilfoyle sought thousands of dollars from him for her American Express bill. “I think what I’ve presented, she can’t escape from. It’s black and white. It’s her own words, and I think she’s toast as a result of it. It’s grifting on the highest level, and it’s just an awful look for the administration.”

As was reported, while the president and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were said to be “extremely pissed off” at the allegations leveled against the ambassador, her attorneys, Jesse Binnall and David Schwartz, announced they were pursuing their own “legal remedies” while insisting, “Ambassador Guilfoyle has served, and will continue to serve, with integrity, honor and distinction.”

By their telling, their client was aiming to collect unpaid fees for consultations and speaking engagements when she was said to have reached out to Deters for payment, to which he responded, “Well, I’m going to be suing those lawyers, that law firm, and Kimberly Guilfoyle here in Kentucky. It’s gonna be fun.”

“They first said that the text messages were fake. Defamation. Then they said I was a known blackmailer. I’ve never blackmailed anybody in my life. Defamation,” Berman’s guest asserted. “Now, they’re claiming that there are invoices when she knows that’s not true. In all the text messages, she doesn’t mention anything about me owing money. What she talks about is papering this. So, what she asked me to do was make up that I owed her money and write her a letter, and I did that for her. She knows that is phony, and I’m gonna be suing them all for defamation.”

When asked if he owes Guilfoyle any money, Deters said no, “and that’s why I’m gonna sue ’em for defamation.”

“I’ve communicated with the Trump administration today, and I told them — I let them know I’m gonna be suing them for defamation and the story’s not gonna go away,” he went on, detailing that he’d reached out to Guilfoyle’s former fiancé Donald Trump Jr. and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.

Deters also revealed that he is set to speak with ranking members Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) of the Judiciary Committee and Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) of the Oversight Committee on Wednesday.
