Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother blasts Biden, says her son is ‘not white supremacist’ or ‘racist’

The mother of accused teen Kyle Rittenhouse spoke out against President Joe Biden’s characterization of her son last year during an interview Thursday following his highly emotional breakdown a day earlier while testifying.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Wendy Rittenhouse said she was “shocked and angry” when Biden called her son a “white supremacist” while he was campaigning after Kyle was involved in the killing of two rioters and the wounding of a third armed man on Aug. 25, 2020, during unrest in Kenosha, Wis., following a police shooting of an unarmed black man.

“When I saw that I was shocked, I was angry. President Biden don’t [sic] know my son whatsoever, and he’s not a White supremacist. He’s not a racist. And [Biden] did that for the votes. And I was so angry for a while at him and what he did to my son, he defamed him,” Wendy Rittenhouse said.

The mother also noted that she drove her son to a police station in Antioch, Ill., where they are from, to inform officers that he had been involved in the shootings that left Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, dead. A third man, Gaige Grosskreutz, had most of his right bicep blown away by Rittenhouse’s AR-15 rifle; he admitted in court earlier this week that the teen, then 17, did not fire on him until he raised his own handgun and made a move towards Rittenhouse.

Now 18, Kyle is also charged with a minor in possession of a weapon and multiple counts of public endangerment.

In her interview with Hannity, Wendy Rittenhouse said she watched the viral video of her son under attack by several rioters who were chasing him down a Kenosha street after he shot and killed Rosenbaum, who was also chasing after him.

“I see this man trying to kick my son in the face …. When I look at the video with that guy pointing a gun to my son’s head, I thought: he was going to die,” she said. She added that her son “has a lot of healing to do” and has also been experiencing “nightmares.”

Kyle was provided his rifle by a friend, Dominick Black, who testified that he gave the teen the gun after he arrived in Kenosha. Black has also been charged with illegally providing a firearm to a minor and causing death.

Hannity asked Wendy Rittenhouse if she thinks that her son is getting a fair trial.

“The judge is very fair. The people that I talked to that lived in Kenosha all their lives. They told me that Judge [Bruce E.] Schroeder is a very fair judge and he doesn’t allow no nonsense [sic] in his courtroom,” she said.

To that point, Schroeder has scolded prosecutors on several occasions. On one of them, Schroeder blasted, and warned, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger after he brought up that Kyle, under the Fifth Amendment, chose to remain silent after he was charged.

“Since Aug. 25 2020 this is the first time you have told your story … I’m making the point that after hearing everything in the case now he’s tailoring his story to what has already been introduced,” said Binger on Wednesday.

“This is a very grave constitutional violation for you to talk about the defendant’s silence,” the judge said.

“That was just an utter embarrassment for the prosecution,” a Rittenhouse spokesperson said on “Ingraham Angle” Wednesday.

“It is clear that this district attorney’s office should have never brought charges. I mean, they did [bring charges] without any meaningful investigation and I think what the nation has learned was the state still doesn’t know what version of events they want to go with.”
