A disgraced Democratic politician from Las Vegas has been found guilty of murdering a respected reporter who asked too many questions about him and will now most likely spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars.
Robert Telles is a former Democratic public administrator for Clark County, Nevada. He was found guilty of premeditated murder among other charges on Wednesday concerning the death of longtime Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German in September of 2022. German’s throat was reportedly slashed and he was stabbed in the heart.
“A jury has sentenced Robert Telles, a former Nevada politician found guilty of fatally stabbing a Las Vegas investigative reporter, to life in prison with eligibility of parole after a minimum of 20 years,” CNN reported.
“Telles, a 47-year-old former Clark County public administrator, was convicted in the September 2022 death of Jeff German, a longtime Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter in a trial that highlighted concerns around press safety. The jury found the murder was ‘willful, deliberate and premeditated’ and it was carried out by ‘lying in wait.’ Telles shook his head as the verdict was read aloud,” the media outlet continued.

The jury deliberated for three days before coming back with a guilty verdict, charging him with first-degree murder. The evidence, including DNA, against Telles was massive.
The failed Democrat stabbed the reporter to death because he wrote about the scandals surrounding him. The politician blamed the reporter for his losing a primary election in June 2022 and for his marital problems. German was highly respected and had reported on corruption in Vegas politics for many years. He was a journalist for 40 years.
German reported in May 2022 that a number of employees had accused Telles of creating a “hostile work environment.” He also nailed the Democrat over an alleged “inappropriate” relationship with a staffer. Telles would go on to admit to the affair.
At the time of German’s murder, leftists attempted to blame conservatives for it, claiming he was reporting on the political right and Trump. That was false. Telles was a die-hard gun-control advocate and German was digging into corruption surrounding him.

“Prosecutors said during the trial that surveillance video taken outside of German’s home showed a man wearing a large sunhat, orange jacket, and gray Nike sneakers waiting in the bushes before stabbing the reporter when he got home. The suspect left in a maroon SUV that was later found to belong to Telles. Police also executed a search warrant and found a large sunhat and gray Nike sneakers that were cut up and hidden, according to prosecutors,” the Daily Wire reported.
“Telles testified during the trial and claimed that his former colleagues, a real estate company, and police hired an assassin to kill German and frame him. Telles’ attorney Robert Draskovich did not endorse his client’s theory, saying, ‘It’s understandable why he believes this wide-reaching conspiracy. What other options does he have under these circumstances?'” the outlet recounted.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson declared that the verdict would send a message, “Any attempts to silence the media or to silence or intimidate a journalist will not be tolerated.”

Las Vegas Review-Journal Executive Editor Glenn Cook lauded the verdict in a statement, calling it a “measure of justice” for the murdered reporter and for slain journalists everywhere.
“Jeff was killed for doing the kind of work in which he took great pride: His reporting held an elected official accountable for bad behavior and empowered voters to choose someone else for the job,” Cook remarked.
“Today also brought a measure of justice for slain journalists all over the world. Our jobs are increasingly risky and sometimes dangerous. In many countries, the killers of journalists go unpunished. Not so in Las Vegas. Our thanks to police and prosecutors, whose diligent work won this conviction,” he added.
“Let’s also remember that this community has lost much more than a trusted journalist. Jeff was a good man who left behind a family who loved him and friends who cherished him. His murder remains an outrage. He is missed,” Cook commented.
