Morale issues continue to plague the dedicated professionals who are tasked with controlling the porous southern border and who have had their hands tied by President Joe Biden’s toothless immigration control policies that have left them overwhelmed and lacking the necessary support to do their jobs.
Tensions bubbled to the surface this week as top administration officials, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz, made the rounds to meet with agents along the U.S.-Mexico border including a heated confrontation that took place during a stop in Laredo, TX.
In a leaked video posted to Twitter by Bill Melugin of Fox News, Ortiz’s efforts to bolster the spirits of those who have been repeatedly dumped on by Washington D.C. politicians and bureaucrats fell flat when his rousing pep talk was abruptly interrupted by agents who are particularly disgusted with Mayorkas, the Cuban-born radical leftist tabbed by Biden to oversee the dismantling of the no-nonsense approach taken by former President Donald J. Trump.
NEW: Border Patrol agents in Laredo got into a heated exchange with BP Chief Raul Ortiz during DHS Secretary Mayorkas’ visit today.

“I get it,” said Ortiz. “You come to work, you’re frustrated, you’re upset because you didn’t get the desired outcome that you want, doesn’t mean you give up, right?”
“We’re not,” responded an agent, to which Ortiz replied, “I know you’re not, that’s why I’m saying, we don’t give up. We stay focused, we continue to do the job and the mission that we signed up for right? We all signed up for it, we all raised our hand.”
Things rapidly went downhill from there.
One agent began, “It’s kinda hard to say that when…” which brought an angry response from Ortiz, “It’s not hard to say it,” he fired back, “It may be hard for you to say it, I’ve been doing this for 31 years. It’s not hard for me to say it. Every day I wake up and I’m committed to this organization and I’m committed to each one of y’all.”
Amidst grumbling from the assembled agents, Ortiz said “You’re getting bogged down in the policies and the politics,” bringing a complaint from agents that they are forbidden from using the term “illegal alien,” a major taboo under Biden.
“You just said it,” replied an exasperated Ortiz, adding that “Is anything going to happen to you? You just said it,” prompting more rumbling from the agents.
“Why are you guys getting caught up in semantics, right?” Ortiz asked,
“There’s a mission out there to be done guys,” he said as agents became increasingly restive.
“We can sit here and argue about it until we’re blue in the face, right? I’ve been doing this job as long as y’all,” he added, as he failed to quell the unrest in the room.
An agent then made a bold remark, “That’s the problem chief, ‘For evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.’ That’s exactly what’s happening here. Good men are doing nothing. You’re allowing illegal aliens to be dropped off in communities.”
Ortiz tried to soothe the raw feelings, “You are doing something,” he said, “You are, you’re rescuing people every day, you’re taking fentanyl off the streets every day.”
He was met with an agent’s response that “under this administration, in the last year, we’ve got the highest fentanyl deaths in the history of our country, in one year.”
According to Melugin, agents put Ortiz on the spot over the fentanyl problem as the dangerous drug continues to flow into the U.S. under Biden’s stewardship, adding to an addiction problem that has spiraled out of control, claiming the lives of countless Americans.
Borfer Patrol agents also confronted Chief Ortiz about the record number of fentanyl deaths in the U.S.
BP Agent: “How many [fentanyl seizures] are we missing because we’re focusing on these families?”
Chief Ortiz: “I don’t know.”
BP agent: “That’s the problem!”@FoxNews

The stunning video caught the attention of many on Twitter including Chad Wolf who was the acting Secretary of Homeland Security under Trump.
“During my time at DHS I have never seen anything like this. The Border Patrol has not only lost confidence in this Admin, they are now pushing back openly. DHS Secretary stands to the side in this video and says nothing. No leadership, no vision,” Wolf wrote.

When the intended purpose of an institution is changed to a contradictory purpose, the trust, faith, confidence, and loyalty once granted to that institution are revoked.
All that remains is power and resources.

The border patrol has seized enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman, and child in the United States, but the Biden administration simply does not give a fuck

This is being done on purpose. The intention is to gut the middle class. Remember that we need to support the sovereign borders of Ukraine.

With few exceptions, Chief’s are like Diapers. They should be changed often and for precisely the same reason.

The exchange followed a report by journalist Julio Rojas that during another meeting earlier in the week, one agent turned his back on Mayorkas in protest during a stop in Yuma, AZ.

Considering how the Biden administration has treated the Border Patrol including the spreading of the ridiculous hoax that agents on horseback were “whipping” Haitian immigrants last year which led to them being denounced by Biden himself, it should come as no great shock that morale is approaching rock bottom.
