LeBron James called out for holding back laughter at Macy Gray’s All-Star anthem

The national anthem at this weekend’s NBA All-Star Game set off anything but a patriotic reaction from NBA star LeBron James.

The 37-year-old Los Angeles Lakers forward seemed to be trying to stifle his laughter during the national anthem when he was seen on camera at the NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland on Sunday.

Granted, Macy Gray’s NBA All-Star performance raised many eyebrows and James was not the only one to react to her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” delivered with an accompanying guitarist.

Cameras caught James appearing to be holding back his amusement during Gray’s delivery at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Gray, a Grammy Award-winning R&B singer and native of Canton, Ohio, became a top subject of comments on Twitter as soon as her performance was over. Other on-camera reactions were also shared, like those of actor Bill Murray and former NFL player Ahmad Rashad.

Many were reminded of Fergie’s infamous performance ahead of the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and commented on James’ reaction to Gray’s anthem rendition.

Some were not happy about James and called him out while defending Gray.

But, for the most part, many Twitter users got a kick out of James’ reaction.
