Megyn Kelly claps back at John Legend and his ‘needy’ wife Chrissy Teigen: ‘Sweet John, it must be so hard…’

Independent journalist and viral podcaster Megyn Kelly bluntly called John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen a “needy, attention-starved bully” after he came to her defense following criticism for “showing her underpants” and having “serfs” and “minions” help carry her dress to the “Nerd Prom.”

Legend was interviewed by TMZ over Kelly’s comments on Teigen’s attire, or lack thereof while attending the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC, last week. He told the outlet that the SiriusXM host should “shut up.” He also dismissed her as someone who “likes attention” and was “desperate” to win back her audience after “she pissed all the conservatives off when she asked Trump a tough question.”

“That’s her attempt. She’s desperate. She can just shut up,” Legend sneered.

That lit a fire under Kelly who tore into Legend and Teigen on Monday.

“John Legend had some choice words for yours truly after I mocked his elitist, out-of-touch wife for having her minions carrying her ‘train’ to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while she was showing off her underwear,” Kelly said on her show.

Kelly called Teigen’s outfit “an absurd thing on many levels because this wasn’t the coronation [of King Charles] or a soft porn movie.”

“It was Nerd Prom with White House reporters and D-list entertainers,” Kelly claimed, saying that she was sorry to break that to the couple. She also noted that it is “the event most of us are too embarrassed to be seen at these days, never mind one to which you wear a dress with a train and its own staff!”

She offered a “couple of quick corrections” to Legend’s assertions when speaking with TMZ.

“First of all, we are the number two news podcast in the United States and number five podcast in all shows, just passed a million subscribers on YouTube where we’re adding tens of thousands of new fans a week so we’re good on the audience, John,” Kelly informed him.

“Second of all, as for my decision not to renew at Fox, it appears John has been getting his news from Keith Olbermann!” she quipped.

Then she took issue with his claim that she is “desperate for attention.”

“Sweet John, it must be so hard to live with that on your arm and in your bed every day and night and see anything else as you survey the women of this world,” Kelly stated, deftly tearing into Legend as only she can.

“When one’s wife shows her panties to the president, it’s probably really embarrassing,” she told him. “I get it… warp your view of women on this earth when she takes photos of her abortion and treats it as a PR-op. Something that should be the most private and intimate moments in a couple’s life… it’s probably extremely uncomfortable. Oh, wait! John Legend was there too, wasn’t he? He was actually there. He thought that moment would make a great photo-op too. A chance to promote their brand,” she charged.

“How dare you lecture anyone on needing attention, sir,” Kelly added.

The segment continued with the intrepid podcast host taking down Legend and his wife not just by a notch, but by a whole bunch of them.
