A transgender golfer won a women’s tournament in Florida on the official LPGA qualifying tour and set off a wave of backlash.
One of the vocal critics of the trend and the use of “preferred” pronouns was journalist and podcast host Megyn Kelly who went off of the news of Hailey Davidson’s win at the NXXT Women’s Classic last week.
The professional women’s golf tour is all about “elevating women’s golf,” according to the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour website.

“Honestly this one came as a bit of a surprise to me,” the golfer wrote in an Instagram post. “Being 3 shots back with two holes to play I got myself into a playoff after sticking it to 3 feet on the 18th hole. We tied the first playoff hole with birdies and then a Par on the second earned me my first win in 2.5 years! This also puts me in first place in the season long race that the top 5 players get 2 @epsontour exemptions each!”
“Thank you all for helping me wade through any hate and making me feel loved,” Davidson concluded.
“The win propelled Davidson to the top of the NXXT tour’s leaderboard where she boasts a total score of 1320, a whopping 150 points ahead of the woman in second place,” the New York Post reported. “Out of the five tournaments held in the league since November, Davidson has placed in the top-2, twice, along with a 7 and 9 place finish.”
“She allegedly began talking with the tour in 2016 but wasn’t deemed eligible to compete until 2021, when, at that time, she had been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for 5 years and 8 months,” the news outlet added. “She also had full gender reassignment surgery by that time, according to a post on social media dated Oct. 2022.”
Former professional tennis pro Martina Navratilova was among many who called out the victory.
This really needs to end sooner rather than later. Male bodies, however they might identify, do not belong in women’s sports! https://t.co/QzoqhVW5MO

But Megyn Kelly leveled a blistering reality check on X where she announced that “Pronouns are a gateway drug to a very sick ideology.”
A man just won the women’s golf tournament.
Also the correct pronoun is HE. He won. Not she. This is a great example of how using “preferred” pronouns obfuscates the offense. If a “she” had won there’d be no problem. PRONOUNS ARE A GATEWAY DRUG to a very sick ideology. https://t.co/L2kRZYL64g— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) January 20, 2024
Her blistering comment sparked scores of others on X with a common theme.
Perfectly stated.

Why do they use “her” for this cheating loser? What is the NYPost scared of? I hate it that even media outlets who don’t approve of this (which is why they publish stories calling it out), play the pronoun game. Really tired of it.

Pronouns are also about control, since no one uses them except when you’re talking about someone, not to them. They want to control how people talk about them when they’re not around. That’s the ultimate in control.

Women just aren’t doing enough about stopping it.
There are a few voices/fighters out there, the streets should be flooded with women protesting this crap.

This will stop when women refuse to compete.

Time for women golfers to boycott LPGA. Form a real women’s league.

Until real women walk away from competition with men, it won’t stop!

That would be the end of the LPGA and the beginning of LPGALGBTQIA, but this sort of thing will invite LIV to start a women’s tour and that replace the LPGA. LPGA wouldn’t survive that.
