Motherboard suggests women could take horse meds to induce abortions, not banned for disinformation

Some of the same far-left voices who mocked popular podcaster Joe Rogan for using a so-called “horse de-wormer” to cure his COVID last year are now actively encouraging women to use horse ulcer medication to induce an abortion.

“Misoprostol is relatively easy to acquire from veterinary sources, since in addition to medically inducing abortions, it’s also used to treat ulcers in horses,” a Tuesday tweet from the far-left “news” publication Vice’s tech department, Motherboard, reads.

The tweet links to a full-blown Vice piece on the subject.

“With the Supreme Court poised to overturn the constitutional right to abortion, an anarchist collective that makes DIY medicine has released detailed instructions for making abortion pills,” the piece states.

Since being posted, the outlet’s tweet has been ratioed by an army of critics eager to condemn it for its blatant, unrepentant hypocrisy.

Critics have specifically drawn attention to what Motherboard tweeted on Sept. 8th, 2021: “Rogan has recovered from COVID-19 and used his first show back to spread misinformation about the horse-deworming drug he took.”

This tweet linked to a piece smearing Rogan for using the drug ivermectin as part of a cocktail of COVID treatments that were prescribed to him by a licensed doctor.

At the time, Motherboard and other left-wing outlets smeared ivermectin users as dimwits using “horse paste,” as they called it, to cure themselves in lieu of just getting vaccinated. Yet months later, using horse medication to induce abortions in lieu of just giving birth (or avoiding getting pregnant in the first place) is suddenly acceptable.

The hypocrisy, critics say, is “abominable.”

Equally “abominable,” they say, is social media’s treatment of Motherboard’s so-called “reporting.” Back in 2021, and even to this day, any promotion of ivermectin as a COVID cure is censored by social media giants like Facebook and Twitter. Motherboard’s reporting, on the other hand, remains untouched.

This discrepancy exemplifies why the right is so fiercely opposed to the Biden administration’s recently announced Disinformation Governance Board.

The left has repeatedly demonstrated that so-called “misinformation” and “disinformation” refer almost exclusively to observations and opinions that they dislike, not observations and opinions that are necessarily factually wrong.

Take the reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. It too was smeared as “disinformation,” despite later being shown to be 100 percent accurate.

Similarly, the so-called “horse paste” or “horse de-wormer” ivermectin has shown some “antiviral effect” against COVID, according to research from the Japanese pharmaceuticals company Kowa Co Ltd.

Yet, to this day, Motherboard continues to smear ivermectin users.

In response to the backlash it received for its Misoprostol tweet, the outlet posted an additional tweet doubling down on its anti-ivermectin views.

“You may be reminded of ivermectin, which is used to control parasites in horses. It became a favored—but ineffective—COVID treatment among conspiracy theorists. The main difference here is that misoprostol does something, other than giving you the shits,” the left-wing outlet claimed.

This tweet has also been ratioed.
