NASCAR stars divided fans this Fourth of July weekend with messages celebrated and panned by Americans on social media.
It’s hard to argue that there’s a sport more American than NASCAR, and nothing proves that better than Chase Briscoe’s speech after winning in the Bass Pro Shops Red, White and Blue car over the July 4th weekend. Winning the Chicagoland race resulted in a victory lane that got the hearts of red-blooded Americans everywhere pumping with pride, as the United States celebrated 250 years of undeniable greatness.

“Think that was as good of a race as you can get.” 🎆

“I feel so American, winning in the Bass Pro Shops Red, White and Blue car, Fourth of July weekend, 250 years. Man, what an unbelievable race car,” he said.
“I feel like that’s the most American I’ll ever feel in my life,” he added later. “Just the whole Bass Pro Shops group. It’s a huge thing, obviously they so big on being proud to be an American. To win on this weekend, it means a lot to all of us.”
But while Briscoe was oozing pride, fellow racer Bubba Wallace had a different message for America’s milestone.
Look:
250 years. This country is beautiful, complicated, and a work in progress. Which is a massive privilege, and is exactly what makes it so great. The freedom to use our voices, challenge the status quo, and responsibility to shape the future can easily be taken for granted. You…

“250 years. This country is beautiful, complicated, and a work in progress. Which is a massive privilege, and is exactly what makes it so great. The freedom to use our voices, challenge the status quo, and responsibility to shape the future can easily be taken for granted. You don’t have to agree with someone to have the same pride in the country we share. Real progress happens when we realize staying unified is bigger than our differences. USA!” Wallace wrote on X Saturday.
While some saw this as a message of unity despite petty differences, others couldn’t help but question the messenger.
Says the guy who planted a noose in his nascar stall. look in the mirror. You are the problem with America.

Interesting, it’s definitely complicated when idiots call their garage pully a noose. But a few weeks before that it never was a noose. 🤔

I find this post interesting. You actually tried to start a race war over a freaking rope on a garage door. You didn’t give a damn that it was a lie. Now you have the nerve to say staying unified is bigger than our differences? You called an entire fanbase racist. What a joke

Only in America can you fake a hate crime to land some sponsors

Right, nice try bro. We don’t know to believe u or not. Trust is a big thing. We are still getting over the rope shit bud. We want to like u that’s the crazy thing. But one day it this and the next day it this. Find a place and stick to it. No more flip flop. PICK THE RIGHT SIDE
