Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his final exchange with Senator Lindsey Graham.
Speaking to Fox & Friends: Weekend, the foreign leader revealed that Graham expressed fervent disapproval of Israel financing its own defense just days before his sudden and shocking death.
Watch:
Netanyahu on Lindsey Graham:
In the last conversation I had with Lindsey Graham, I told him, “We can finance our own defense.”
He went ballistic. He said, “No way—you can’t do that!”
He was so committed to Israel’s security that he actually argued with me to keep American aid… pic.twitter.com/JjsCFj5OFE

“I said, ‘Lindsey, we’ve come of age. We have a robust economy, we can take care of financing our own weapons for the defense of Israel and defense of our common interest with America. So I’m going to phase out the support, the military support for Israel over a period of years, and bring it down to zero. We can do it,'” Netanyahu said. “He went ballistic. He said ‘No way, you can’t do that!'”
“He was so concerned with our security, which he believed was your [America’s] security, that he actually fought the prime minister of Israel on keeping America’s aid or actually increasing it,” he continued. “And that tells you what kind of a person this extraordinary, extraordinary friend was.”
President Donald Trump also revealed his final conversation with the South Carolina senator, which he says took place just hours before Graham’s passing.
“He actually said he was tired, but he wanted to pass the SAVE America Act, and I said, ‘Well, we’re going to get it done, Lindsey. We’re going to get it done. I’ll see you, like, soon,'” Trump told Meet the Press.

If you don’t want someone’s help you don’t beg them to stop helping you you just refuse to take the assistance.
If Israel truly can finance their defense, they shouldn’t pretend to tell the US they don’t want help. They should just reject the assistance in totality.

Every Israeli knows what Senator Graham meant to our country. Your words remind us how much this loss is personal as well. Thanks .

This is such a strange relationship for a foreign leader to have with a Senator from South Carolina

He truly was Israel’s greatest patriot. America, not so much.
