A new “BOMBSHELL REPORT” unraveled the federal government’s connection to a university that worked to “monitor & censor Americans’ speech” prior to the 2020 presidential election.
Like the “Twitter Files” that preceded it, the House Judiciary Committee Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has endeavored to expose abuses that, along with violating constitutional rights, may have had serious ramifications regarding matters like election integrity.
Late Monday, committee chair Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan (R) dropped a thread on X that coincided with the release of a 103-page interim staff report laying out communications that showed how the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in particular their Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the State Departments Global Engagement Center (GEC) worked with Stanford University on forming a “disinformation” group known as the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP).
“BOMBSHELL REPORT ON THE CENSORSHIP-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX,” wrote Jordan. “HUNDREDS of secret reports show how @DHSgov’s @CISAgov, The GEC (@StateDept), @Stanford and others worked together to censor AMERICANS before the 2020 election, including true information, jokes, and opinions.”

“The federal government, disinformation ‘experts’ at universities, Big Tech, and others worked together through the Election Integrity Partnership to monitor & censor Americans’ speech,” asserted the congressman as his thread highlighted one email from an EIP member dated July 31, 2020 that indicated, “On the DHS app, fake news, and any other US election-related work, it would be great to sync-up, as well. I know the Council has a number of efforts on broad policy issues around the elections, but we just set up an election integrity partnership at the request of DHS/CISA and are in weekly comms to debrief on disinfo, IO,etc…”
According to one EIP member, the EIP was created “at the request of CISA.”

Details of the report were said to have only been made available to the committee after Stanford had been pressured with the threat of contempt, and Jordan summed up how “stakeholders” in EIP, which included the federal government, would present claims of misinformation that would get analyzed while similar content was sought “across platforms.” From that, a recommendation on “how to censor” would be provided to Big Tech.
According to the report, the referrals of “misinformation” were conducted via a process dubbed. “switchboarding,” wherein requests originated from “state and local election officials” and were passed through the federal government.
The lengthy list of targets that extended to “an untold number of everyday Americans of all political affiliations,” included then-President Donald Trump, Republican Reps. Thomas Massie (Kentucky) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia), The Babylon Bee, and figures from Fox News, The Daily Wire, BlazeTV and other conservative news and entertainment outlets.
Provided examples of the opinions, jokes or statements that were targeted for censorship included posts from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R).
In Oct. 2020, Gingrich posted to then-Twitter, “Pennsylvania democrats are methodically changing the rules so they can steal the election. It is amazingly open, dishonest, ruthless and will work unless the state (especially Philadelphia) is flooded with law enforcement,” and Huckabee detailed, “Stood in rain for hour to early vote today. When I got home I filled in my stack of mail-in ballots and then voted the ballots of my deceased parents and grandparents. They vote just like me! #Trump2020.”

Despite the broad reach, the report indicated that the censorship was “largely directed in a way that benefitted one side of the political aisle: true information posted by Republicans and conservatives was labeled as ‘misinformation’ while false information posted by Democrats and liberals was largely unreported and untouched by the censors.”
“The pseudoscience of disinformation is now — and has always been — nothing more than a political ruse most frequently targeted at communities and individuals holding views contrary to the prevailing narratives,” it continued.
CISA Executive Director Brandon Wales issued a statement of Fox News Digital on the report and contended his agency “does not and has never censored speech or facilitated censorship.”
He went on, “In response to concerns from election officials of all parties regarding foreign influence operations and disinformation that may impact the security of election infrastructure, CISA mitigates the risk of disinformation by sharing information on election literacy and election security with the public and by amplifying the trusted voices of election officials across the nation.”
Noting there would be “more to come,” Jordan closed his thread reminding, “The American people deserve to know if they were targeted by their own government and so-called ‘disinformation’ experts. The Committee is making the data from these reports publicly available…”
