California Gov. Gavin Newsom is making the rounds to sell his new book, a de facto prerequisite to running for president, and, as might be expected, the Democrat is doubling down on the left’s “hate America” agenda.
The title of Newsom’s second book is “Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery,” and he writes about the “forces that have defined his ambitions as a politician and have pushed him to outpace the nation on myriad cutting-edge social issues that have since entered the mainstream,” according to the book’s description on Amazon.
In an interview with PBS, the governor was also quick point out that California, the only state he has ever lived in, was “born of genocide.
“I try to color, quite literally with pastels, landscapes,” Newson said, his hands as busy as his mouth as he plugged his book to a willing host. “I begin the book talking about looking out over the American River, where ‘Eureka! Eureka!’ was yelled. And yellow gold, and how we were born of genocide in California.”
“I try to paint a picture that is about California. It’s about America. It’s my family. It’s the journey. And so I do think there are aspects to it people can connect to in a very meaningful way,” he continued.
California Governor Gavin Newsom smears California and the United States as being “born of genocide.”

Eager to paint a picture of struggle growing up, despite being featured on the San Francisco Chronicle’s 1991 “Children of the Rich,” Newson writes about how his parents divorced at a young age and his mother was forced to “work three jobs,” while his father palled around with the Getty family. He shares the frustration of having to grow up among the elite San Francisco society under those circumstances while living with the results of “undiagnosed dyslexia.”
In other words, more pandering to the American voters that he is just like you, as seen earlier this week when he told black voters that he, too, was a not-so-smart underachiever growing up.

A good description of the book comes from Slate senior writer Scaachi Koul: “It’s like Hillbilly Elegy but for middle-class alcoholics in the Bay Area with close ties to petroleum magnates.”
As for the so-called genocide, California was established through Spanish colonization and shaped by Mexican governance up until 1848, which is overlooked in the left’s perversion of a conquering society that brought Western civilization to the North American continent. The same conquering society that shaped Native American tribes for thousands of years.
Turns out, social media users are not buying what Newsom’s pitching — here’s a sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
I guess pandering to blacks did not work well, so it is now pandering to Native Americans this week. Next week it would be Hispanics, the week after that, pandering to Asians, then muslims.

You say you can’t read, so I’m sure you can’t write. Give it up Gavin, you’re a dweeb, a loser, narcissistic, feminine, and soft. Stop embarrassing your family, especially your son. They will live the rest of their lives under the shadow of your ruined reputation. What a legacy…

California was “born” by Spanish and Mexican settlement. California started dying when the Democrats took it from Republicans…

Gavin was an entitled California kid, who became an entitled corrupt politician. Now you don’t need to buy his book.
